I stand by the belief that Nancy Lanza could have had no indication that Adam Lanza was a violent threat if he never in fact displayed any of violent tendencies, which those close to the kid said he never did.

It's also not fair to say someone cannot be prepared to defend themselves because "it never happens there." It can happen to anyone at anytime.
