Obama poised to nominate Hagel as SOD. There is absolutely no way this nomination gets by the military industrial complex and the Israeli Lobby. Pigs do not fly.

But if in fact pigs do end up flying, the happiest people in the world will be our servicemen, who have been shit on and lied to for 12 straight years.

Unlike others....Hagel proudly served his country and won a purple heart. Compare that to one Dickless Cheney....5 deferments and all.

Obama wants to end the endless wars, but doesn't have the stones to do it himself. Any retreat from these 5 occupations will "prove" what a "true Muslim" he is.

Hagel would do his dirty work for him.

Dickless footwedge packed his bags, took his required physical for military service and was ready to go. That's what most Americans did when they received a high draft number (59).

Other dickless Americans, when confronted with the exact same scenario, elected to snub their nose and play with military loopholes in order to stay out of the battlefront. A few of these dickless ones who had "better things to do" ended up as top defense administrators, ordering other people's kids to do exactly what they refused to do.

Hell, one of these dickless ones became the vice president of the United States. Sometimes...it just pays off in silver....to be a full blown coward, wouldn't you agree?

As with anything else there are plenty of iniquities in our system including the draft. Not defending it; just a fact.

And while in principle I understand your sentiments, I have a difficult time listening to criticism of people who avoid military service (regardless of position) from those who also avoided it - draft or no draft.
