How about Border Wars? Fake staged or real wet backs sneaking over with burlap sacks full of weed?

They have a shop in Nashville, and my cousin hung out with them at Tootsies a bit, said they were very cool guys.

Dave Hester sells frequently at the swap meet I go to here in San Diego. He's been there the past few weekends. He seems like a nice guy but I just don't see how he makes any money. All the stuff he sells is complete junk.

Which is why it's hilarious he walked away from the show. They were doing 20+ shows a season, and I'd guess the main guys were getting at least $5k per show (probably 3-4X that by Season 3). Not to mention the free publicity/promotion for their shops and the "windfall" of some of the planted goodies.Ytowngirlinfla;1341407 wrote:Dave Hester sells frequently at the swap meet I go to here in San Diego. Hester had no intention of walking away (which is why he's suing) on principle. He grossly miscalculated. Any of the characters on this show were easily replaceable, and so he completely overestimated his leverage. And now he's bitter and trying to ruin the show, which oddly makes him appear to be every bit the prick he portrayed on the show.

If you google his old auction house you will come upon a ton of stories about the slimeball thief he is.

If he's still doing any auction work I would assume he sells the good stuff that way and brings the remaining junk to unload at swap meets.Ytowngirlinfla;1341407 wrote:Dave Hester sells frequently at the swap meet I go to here in San Diego. I didn't realize he did auction work. It's funny cause he does that "YUUUUP" crap constantly and you can hear him from a few rows away. Makes sense now why he's been there for I believe 3 or 4 weeks straight. He has a booth full of his trademarked merchandise for sale. He must be desperate to make money.ts1227;1341426 wrote:If he's still doing any auction work I would assume he sells the good stuff that way and brings the remaining junk to unload at swap meets.

Selling the complete junk at flea markets is actually kind of savvy. Slap a "David Hester: Authentic Storage Wars" cert on it and you get a few bucks for something completely worthless.
I read somewhere that the Pawn Stars guys basically sit in the back room and sign autographs for $20 a pop, plus all their souvenir crap. Same guy was saying that shop used to be straight watches/gold/silver just like any other and that they never dealt in this unique/high-end stuff. Kind of makes sense when you look at the size of their shop. Plus it's not like their shop is in that great of an area to be dealing with any sort of higher caliber clientele.

I ran into the fat one, frank, at the Dallas airport in October. I also saw the woman, Danielle. She was walking all uppity and such, or maybe she was just doing it to make her mammory glands stick out better. Frank is not very tall, shorter than I expected i guess. He didnt carry himself like someone on tv. He walked all hunched over, kinda like he was trying to hide and such and I imagine so.l Someone at our terminal asked what show he was on, and he said "Man Vs Food". I kinda laughed, he probably figured if ya dont know what show I am on then F you! STood next to him for about 20 mins or so. I asked if he was goin to Ft Wayne since that was the terminal he was at, but he said no. Imagine he was just there to watch the Pats/Jets game taht was on right there. Ya could tell he didnt wanna talk to anyone or be talked to. He did mention to me that he hadnt slept in 22 hours and he was grumpy. WhenI told him I knew what he was tlaking about as I slept on the airport floor in Ontario Ca the night before he started to talk a little bit more.Trueblue23;1341305 wrote:This. They came through WCH about two years ago, one of my friends ran into them at a gas station. They asked for a good bar, after which we all met up with them. Actually pretty cool guys, the short one kept telling us how much he liked fat chicks. He said at first the show was pretty legit, but it's gotten more and more staged as it's went along. He said they can't really complain though because, and I quote, "you ****ers would do it to be on TV too". Exact quote from the one that looks like Bob Sagget. I'd drink beers with them again, anyday.
WHen I was back I looked up some stuff about the show. I watch it at times and it is interesting. One post had a guy talking about how they came to his town and they had talked on the show how the buildings were not opened in 20+ years. But the guy who posted it said they have only been there for less then ten, and weeks prior their crew came there and checked out the buildings and put diff locks on them and ya could see that from the show.
but anways.....an acrticle states how rigged that Amish show is as well

TMZ is reporting Lindsay Lohan's storage unit is to be auctioned off at the end of the month due to an outstanding $16,000 bill she has no money to pay.
Get Dan and the crew up there to shoot a special episode of the show because one can only wonder what is in there, and what the bidding would be like as the tabloids go wild if they got their hands on anything good.
That is a storage wars episode I wouldn't mind watching.

Her career may have been even lower 3 years ago...what I'm saying is, she probably loaded this with some scandalous stuff and has been waiting for it to go to auction.IggyPride00;1341932 wrote:TMZ is reporting Lindsay Lohan's storage unit is to be auctioned off at the end of the month due to an outstanding $16,000 bill she has no money to pay.
One of the semi-regulars on Storage Wars actually made a killing when she bought a Paris Hilton locker some time ago. C'mon, these celebs have huge homes and you're telling me they need a storage locker for some junk? Or are there no basements or attics in CA?

It's probably true. She should be due for a sex tape or 2 soon enough to try and get her career going again.gut;1341946 wrote:Her career may have been even lower 3 years ago...what I'm saying is, she probably loaded this with some scandalous stuff and has been waiting for it to go to auction.

She tried Playboy last year, but half measures never work in instances like this.

Hester has to be one of the dumbest dudes on the planet:
"When Hester re-signed to appear on the show’s third season, he received $25,000 per episode, a guarantee of 26 episodes, $2500 per month for travel, a $124,500 expense account and a $25,000 signing bonus. In total his salary for the year came to $829,500."
So, in additiona to the very generous salary guarantee, they basically got their all their expenses paid -INCLUDING what they spend on lockers (that's almost $5k an episode to buy lockers with). And Hester is pissed they don't get to keep and sell the planted treasures? How is this guy remotely smart enough to run a business?!? Guy pissed away what probably amounts to 10 years of income (at least 4-5).

I imagine it wasnt his intent to get fired. As is stated, others on the show also complained about it but he was the one that persisted.
Guess he pushed too much!
