And you know this for a fact how?

because there are more stars in the galaxy than grains of sand on the earth, any civilization that can travel faster than light has no need for our backwater planet. There is more material in the asteroid belt than on this planet.

all the more reason for them NOT to visit us. I imagine once they see the 1st episode of the Jerry Springer show, they'll know everything they need to about this planet.

The odds are definitely with you, but there are still many reasons why you could be wrong - food source, habitation, rare minerals/elements, etc...There may be more stars than grains of sand on earth, but that doesn't mean their ability to travel across the galaxy isn't still very limited. A better comparison might be vs. how much sand you take home from the beach in your shorts.

If they have a limited ability, they wouldn't be visiting this planet. The odds of that happening are astronomical.

Not sure that follows. If the odds of an advanced species are roughly in-line with inhabitable/resource rich planets, then it stands to reason that you get a pretty large range but only a relatively small number of resource-rich planets within that range.

You're making the assumption that if they can travel to one star, they can travel to any star. I don't think that has to be the case. Also, the greater their ability to travel likely the greater the need for resources. And one might imagine lengthy travels involve plans to re-stock along the way, which further changes the dynamic as their travel may not be as limited but what they need to plunder at a given time might present fairly limited options.

1. Cubs make the World Series.
2. It's Game 7. In Chicago.
3. Cubs are down 3-2, two outs in the bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, count is 3-2, best hitter at the plate.
4. He hits a high fly ball that may go out. As it reaches the outfield....BOOM....world ends. They never know if they'd have won or if it'd just be another year of being fucking worthless losers like every other damn year in their stupid existence.
If the world ended like that, I'd kill myself.

I think it depends on how long the mutant gay gene keeps increasing in future generations. As the gays increase the population and double and double over generations then we will have less births. One day the mutant gene that causes someone to be gay will rule the land and there wont be enough normal people to procreate.

LOL. Don't get me wrong, I hate teh gays, but science would still be around. If everyone on earth was gay, they would just use science to get pregnant, and b/c of the high demand, it would be a lot cheaper.

yeah, that would be true. Science would still be around and such but they will still have to be "made" by the mutant gay genes and then the kids would likely to become even more gay.

Also with the gays wearing thsoe skinny genes and such its gotta mess up how the boys swim and probably will end up with so many impotent people.

I predict in a couple of hundred years the most lucrative business, and richest people, will be straight guys who donate their normal swimmers to science and to continue the human race. They will be paid like athletes because they will be few and far between.

Then the world would see a totally different type of bullying....gay on straight. "OMG. UR sooooooo Straight. omygosh". And then that would lead to depression of normal straight people and more suicides of the normals, hence thinning of the herds once again.
