The 2013 Heisman Watch is officially on as OSU Soph QB, Braxton Miller firmly established himself as the "Frontrunner" for next year's award by finishing fifth in last night's voting.

Miller's victory will give the Buckeyes 8 all-time Heisman winners making them the college team with the most Heisman wins ever.

There is a fairly good chance Miller could win back-to-back Heismans in 2014 making OSU the only school with dual winners because as we all know only one man on the planet uses Heisman trophies as bookends and that man is the great Archie Griffin, from where? Why Theee Ohio State University of course.

Nobody will ever hear of Johnny Man-zier again...that is all.

He had a better season that two previous Heisman winners (Tebow and Newton), and broke their records.

If Miller don't win, its because he is black.

If Ball played in the SEC he would have been in New York.

If Ball played at ND he would have won it!

...and he wouldn't have needed the stats to earn it.

Wrong, because he wouldn't have had the kind of season, with the stats, that he had this year in the B1G if he played in the SEC.

Braxton has a LONG way to go to sniff a Heisman win. His decision making just isn't there yet, not saying he won't improve over the offseason. He needs to learn how to read a defense pre-snap. There were many times this year he misread the DE and kept it when he should not have and the other way around. I never thought he was a legitimate contender this year, and he has a long way to go to get there next year.

I think the guy who won it is the favorite by default.

Does that apply to Braxton then?

Braxton better get better at throwing the ball if you want him to win the Heisman next year. Plus being the favorite at the start of the year is almost a curse. Look at the last three winners Cam, RGIII and Manzel. None of them were even considered when the season started.

You made the statement about Ball, so that's what I addressed. Do you concur?

Because the Heisman clearly has a history of not awarding black players.

I don't know. Ball is pretty good. I think he could have done well in the SEC. But you were bashing the strength of the B1G, were you not? If so,then that same ideal applies to Braxton. Do you concur?

Definitely. I think the B1G will be (hopefully) better next year, so we'll be able to get a better gauge on how good Braxton is. That, and he'll have another year under Urban's tutelage.

Do you think Ball would not have been successful in the SEC?

Not as successful, no. I think the rush defenses are better in the SEC than in the B1G.
