Really? ND's tight ends have been nothing but solid. Rudolph, Fasano, Carlson. I think Eiffert is the best of them all. Now qb's that's another story lol

I don't want a "solid" TE in the first round. (I highly disagree with you on them being solid as well). I can't think of a player in the last 10 yrs, probably longer thats been a good player in the NFL from ND.

I didn't think he was talking about taking him in the first rd, but if he was excuse me while I LMAO. Taking a TE in the first round would be such a waste. I say go defense in the first round. There is a lot of defensive talent in this draft class.

Also I can't think of a player in the last 10 years either. Golden Tate is one of the bigger douches in the NFL. I think Zibokowski legit might be the best ND player in the NFL right now.

Justin Tuck is the best player in the past 15 yrs in the NFL from ND. To use him as the reason to draft a TE from their in the first round is ridiculous though. Might as well say draft the best player from SD State bc Marshall Faulk went there.

I don't think anyone was using Justin Tuck as a reason to justify drafting Eifert in the 1st round (and crimson already stated he didn't mean take him in the 1st). Rather, it was simply mentioned to refute the statement that there haven't been any good players in the NFL from ND in the last 10 years.

Honestly once nd players go pro I could give 2 shits about how well they do. Sure it's nice to see them do well unless they play for the steelers or ravens. I just think Eiffert will be a very good te in the nfl. I would feel the same of he went to USC or Ohio st or wherever. I forgot we didn't have a 2nd rounder this year so the point is moot

Did anyone see the "paycheck hillis" sign in the endzone? That brought the lulz.

Ridiculous he got that much money. Sounds like Thomas and the boys were right and took it to him today.

661 yds on his career. That's prety shitty for a high 2nd round TE. 400 yds this season, if it wasn't for the TDs you wouldn't be saying that. We'll see if he keeps up the TD production or is the next Mercedes Lewis.

Rudolph is 21st in the league by yds. lol not that bad but in the bottom half of the league. Come on guys, you got to be fucking kidding me with this bullshit. You're arguing with Kyle Rudolph?

Point taken on the yards but tied for 2nd in the NFL amongst TE's with 8 receiving TD's (tied with Jimmy Graham and only Gronk is ahead of them) is pretty good company to be in.

Mercedes Lewis led the league in TDs by TEs few seasons ago, and 2 seasons ago Vernon Davis led the league in TD catches. None have even come close to repeating the production. Majority of the time, when TDs come only in the RZ its a bit flukey. I don't envision Rudolph having 8 TD catches next season.

I said he's not that bad. He's not the best TE in the league, but then again Christian Ponder is a worthless piece of shit when it comes to being able to actually throw the ball (although he has a hot fiance, so kudos to him)...

His fiance is solid, but not NFL QB hot IMO. I'd expect him to do better.

Tyler Eiffert will be a very solid TE in the pros. Maybe a Pro Bowler with a good QB.

That said, you dont take TEs early. They are too easy to find elsewhere and get production out of. Look at who is tops right now...Graham and Gronk (and Hernandez when healthy). I have no clue when they were drafted, but I do know Gresham and Rudolph and Pettigrew and etc etc etc were taken in the first 2 rounds and are not worth that pick compared to later or undrafted TEs.

Also can't think of a SB winning team where the primary reciever was a TE. Look at the chiefs, chargers, cowboys over the past decade. If your offense is run through your TE you have problems.

Thats a good point. However, the Pats could have easily won the SB last year. But they would seem to be the exception.
