It seems to me that the NHL is the biggest joke of a league in world history. I don't watch hockey save a few games I get comped to go see and some of the playoff games, but how can the casual fan be happy with the situation?

There likely won't be a hockey game played in the NHL this entire season and next season looks bleak as well. Would anyone like to start up a hockey league?

Love hockey (NHL) and yea it's dead now. I'm not as bummed now as I will be when football season ends. And then again around the time the playoffs would have been underway. I'm really going to be pissed at that point.

Both sides are being ridiculous. Bettman and Fehr are both idiots.

Yeah. When it's time for the hockey playoffs and all I'll be seeing is the fucking NBA, I'll be bummed. Right now, with football and college basketball, it doesn't really bother me.

Just heard from a source close to the league that the NHL deal will be done in the next six days, and games commencing before Christmas.

Tuesday's PTI said they were close and if/when a deal is made a 50 game schedule would be introduced.

I wouldn't be shocked if Bettman is assassinated within the next few years. Seriously some Canadian will shoot him, I've got no doubt about it

the 6 season ticket holders in Cbus are really pissed. But the crowd who likes a good Holiday on Ice or Olympic Skating Stars Cavalcade are fucking ecstatic!

Holy shit! That is hilarious! Did you think of that all by yourself? You're brilliant!

Shut up, stupid.

This season, if there is one, is dead to me. Both sides are being assholes.

Supposedly their was much optimism last evening, from the players end, that a deal would be completed in the past 24 hours but that fell through and now things are looking grim.

I've also seen talk that next season is now in jeopardy, but that was just from some random fans on the Internet so who knows.

Where's that one hockey guy who posts here. He would be more in touch with the sitch.

This is what my source told me. That source also said that the players were keeping their fingeres crossed. It appears as if they had good reason to do that.

:laugh:About this, I few buddies of mine up in Detroit have renamed Nationwide Arena to Joe Louis Arena South since whenever Detroit goes there they usually outnumber Columbus fans. I crack up watching it on TV and hearing how loud it gets when Detroit scores

I grew up with hockey as my 2nd favorite sport. But, just due to how it's been run, I really just don't care. I'm not pissed. I just don't care. If I want to see a hockey game, I'll go watch the Wheeling Nailers or Youngstown Phantoms instead.
