I've been looking at getting a pit, just wanted any advice anyone had. I've been around them for years, just never had my own, looking to probably get a blue pit.

I don't own one but lived with two for a few years after college with my roommates.

When you go buy a Pitbull make sure the home you are buying it from is loving and caring and not some thug who owns a pit. My three best friends all have pitbulls. The most difficult part of owning a Pitbull is finding a place to live of you own one. If your a renter finding an apartment that allows one is very hard. If you own a home it is easier just make sure your city allows them. The most important part of owning one IMO is getting the dog good training right from the beginning. All three of my friends got theirs professional training by someone who specialized in Pitbulls and their dogs are amazing. A well trained Pit will actually be one of the most loving lapdogs you will ever own. I know by talking to my friends 2 out of 3 would own a Pitbull again and 1 said he wouldn't just because of the hassle of finding a place that allows them. Also be prepared for people to be afraid of your dog even if it is harmless just because of their breed. All of my friends families have hated their dogs at first but, eventually came around to love them. It's also a good idea to socialize them when their young so that the get used to being around other dogs and learn not to be aggressive toward other dogs.

Because people don't raise them correctly.

they do prefer to kill dependents. I guess that is part of the republican program to close some tax loopholes.

Or you can just get a dog like a lab, golder retriever, mut from the animal rescue and save yourself a lot of hassle and still get a great dog. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Theirs at least a dozen other breeds of dogs better than pitbulls. Quit being simple minded.

Little does everyone know the Pomeranian is more agressive than the pit bull lol. That pit is one of if not the sweetest dogs ive had the pleasure of being around.
