I made Avocade Soup once: It turned out good ....SnotBubbles;1332633 wrote:I bought two avocado's 2-3 weeks ago. I didn't know what to do with them. I grilled some slices of one and ate it with grilled tilapia. It's was meh. The other one I sliced and put on a turkey sandwich. It was even more meh.
I love guacamole, but I didn't have a fucking clue what to do with avocado. Any recipe suggestions?
It was quick and eazy to prepare but for my taste it needed to be doctored up some..
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons corn oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon wheat flour
4 1/3 cups vegetable stock
1 large avocado, pitted, peeled, and mashed
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1/2 cup almond milk/light cream
Salt to taste
1/2 yellow bell pepper, finely chopped
1/2 red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 teaspoon paprika
PREPARATION
1. Gently fry the onion in a Dutch oven with the oil. Sprinkle with the flour and stir-fry until the onion is well coated. Continue to stir, and slowly add the stock.
2. Bring to a boil, add the avocado and the cayenne pepper, and gently simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Sir in the almond milk or cream, season, and serve garnished with red and yellow bell peppers and paprika.

Had an avocado smoothie at this Pho place, and it was fantastic.

Is a dutch oven a real thing? Like a real thing as something other than what I do to my wife/children while we're lying in bed watching TV?

Very much so. Have you really never encountered one?
