I know AirTran Midwest us air and southwest usually give free drinks on the holidays. They don't really advertise it but I'd you order one they just tell you it's free. BTW I think Midwest is no longer in business.

I thought when you flew circles around the airport for a while it was also called a "Taxi". My Mistake...how about....we flew in circles around the airport burning friggin fuel for an hour! (aka it blew!) haha

I was on a puddle jumper going about 150 miles. We circled the airport a few times (due to some horrific weather), and then RETURNED to the departing airport because the pilot was getting low on fuel!

Another time a flight got canceled and I got on another via standby. I'm sitting down pleased that my pathetic work/travel life gave me enough status to get on this flight when the stewardess ask us two standby passengers to get off because "the plane is overweight". Well, I let her and the counter agent know that was ridiculous to kick-off a paying customer so bags from the canceled flight could get to their destination ahead of dozens of displaced fliers. "Take off a few bags from people not on the flight - problem solved". So they end-up TAKING OFF FUEL and we got on, after a 45 minute delay.

I cried like a girl when I flew to Texas at age five or so. I still hate the ear-popping. I usually fall asleep now, though.

Just got home from my first flying experience. Three out of the 4 flights arrived early, and the last was right on time. No odd stories for me.

Just landed after a long, long flight with many of the annoyances that have already been mentioned, and the plane pulls up short of the bridgeway (sp?)

The Pilot announces that we have a special passenger who will be exiting the plane before everyone else, and that everyone should stay seated. I'm thinking WTF?????

I then see a car pull up beside the plane and a few people exit the car......that's when they pull a casket, of a soldier who had just died in Afganistan, from the plane.

I have never experienced silence like that on a plane, or anywhere for that matter.

Gut...had the exact same experience on a trip from Cincinnati to Chicago.

I laughed when the flight attendant had to do the safety announcements the second time.

This was when they would still let you go to Canada/Mexico with your DL or an expired passport.

I had a flight from Tampa to Pittsburgh, Southwest Airlines, that went almost straight up at takeoff because of thunderstorms and get struck by lightening...the pilot assured us that it is not that uncommon and everything would be okay. Needless to say I was a little nervous the rest of the flight.
