I hear the 2010 invitations are going out. Does anyone have any insight as to who might be playing?

Is the KHVFS in week 1, 2 or 3?

Week 2 is what I'm hearing and Pickerington Central has received an invitation.

Hillard Davidson deserves one as far as Central, Ohio Div. one schools go.

Pickerington Central is in. It was confirmed last week. The games will be played on Sunday, Sept. 5th and Monday, Sept. 6th. We're not sure who Central will play or which day. I've heard mention that Dublin Coffman and Hilliard Davidson are also in the mix; and supposedly they've talked to a couple of the Cincinnati and Cleveland powers (maybe X, Elder, Moeller, Colerain, St. Iggy, Glenville, etc?).

I've heard that they may match up a few Ohio teams against out of state teams, and then match up a couple of Ohio teams from different areas (e.g. a Central Ohio team vs. a Cleveland team, or a Cleveland team vs. a Cincy team).

Also heard that St. Thomas Aquinas is coming back.

I would love to see a match up between Pickerington Central and St. Thomas Aquinas. Similar styles with Central being (in my opinion) the odds on favorite out of R3.

He's not talking about Louisville STA. I think he was referring to the Florida team, and Pickerington definitely will not be favored against them!

I think he means Central is a favorite to come out of Region 3 next year. It's very early but Central certainly belongs in the conversation about top teams in Region 3 in 2010.

Yes...Central deserves to be mentioned as does Davidson, UA and Coffman.

Yes...those programs have all been good in recent years and will be in the mix next year. I don't know what those other teams have coming back (other than Stoudt at Coffman). Pick Central returns a lot of kids. They've got 8 or 9 starters back on offense and 7 or 8 on defense. Plus they a handful of kids with meaningful varsity experience on both side of the ball.

That Monday is probably Labor Day so kids won't have school.

Davidson returns a ton of starters and a handful with varsity state championship experience. UA returns most of their team and Coffman is always good.

Anyone have any insight on locations? The Shoe or somewhere else? Or multiple sights again

I know some of the games (maybe all) will be played in the Shoe. That's why they're playing Sunday & Monday...OSU has a home game on Saturday.

This is pretty stupid, considering that all or most teams will have 3-5 days rest for their next game. Yes, the kids don't have school Monday BUT they do play on Friday.

I'm sure if they're playing Monday they'll have either the preceeding week off or the next week they'll play on Saturday... it'll just have to be a quick turnaround with film and practice on Tuesday for the next opponent. I don't think anybody is going to turn this down just for that reason

I think Central is leaning toward taking a bye week in week 3. We played on Sunday last season and it was hard turning around on a short week after an emotional & physical game and then playing again.

Texas has this same thing now. I'm looking forward to it growing down here. It'd be nice if Texas had multiple locations like Ohio, but for now it was just in Dallas. Texas is a HUGE state w/ a lot of football talent, plenty of good teams to represent the Lone Star State.

I would like to see more out of state match ups. Watching local teams playing each other isn't all that intriguing.

The rumor in my neck of the woods is that Virginia powerhouse Oscar F. Smith Tigers will be playing the Pickerington Central Tigers on Labor Day weekend in the Herbstreit series.

Should be a great match up between Pickerington Central and Oscar Smith. I also hear Central will be traveling to Indiana to play the Plainfield Quakers week one. Two high profile games in a row. They may just need that 3rd week off to recoup.

I don't see why the quick turn around would be that big of a deal. Except for film study on the next opponent. Most times practice is more grueling then the games.
