What on earth is going on tonight?

Northwestern (3) gets confounded by Loudonville (6) 20-6.
But Chippewa (8) lays the wood on Columbia (1) 62-28 ... the same Columbia that gave Northwestern its only regular season loss by a point.

Looks like Chippewa means business! Not the first time an 8th ranked WCAL team has beaten a first-ranked opponent, but I certainly can't recall it ever happening in such a convincing fashion!

Seems like Bohley has something really good working over in Doylestown!

Congratulations, Chipps! Keep it up next week!

Watched a pretty evenly played game at Northwestern tonite.

It was a defensive battle all evening with offenses on both sides not really making much headway.

Easily could have gone either way till Loudonville scored to go up 20-8 with a minute left to seal the deal.

Chipps came out in the second half and owned the night. Great to see what a change in staff can do for a team, win or lose form this point on, this team has pulled off the unthinkable. 1-29 to 9-2, great job boys, keep making Wayne county proud. Sorry about your night Huskies, I was hoping we could have both teams move on.

Chippewa gets a really tough one this coming week, Coldwater!! All four PAC teams move on too! Triway gets Kenton this week. I wonder where these two games will be played??

A good guess for Triway vs. Kenton would be Mansfield. Who knows where they put the other game? It's only 185 miles between Doylestown and Coldwater!

Triway game won't be at Mansfield. They are still in the playoffs so I doubt they will be able to host a game Friday night when they will be playing somewhere else. I could is Ashland or maybe Tiffin.

Nice try but I was actually at the game standing right behind you on the hill. You had on your usual attire...the hoodie and hat.

I love it because right about now your mind is just racing. I ALWAYS have an eye on the fence huggers!

Speaking of the "campfire"....Did your son enjoy it?

Look at it this way...you have one more season to show your "support" for him and it's all over.....

I never dreamed the Chipps would...

A. be competitive
B. make the playoffs
C. drop 60 on a team in the playoffs

Can Bohley & Company keep this going? I hope so....Go Chipps!

Good luck to the Redbirds the rest of the way...Loudonville's defense was lights out.

New to the site, but have followed most of the year. What is everyone's thoughts on who the offensive and defensive players of the year should be, and coach of the year are in the WCAL?

IMO...

Coach of the Year is Mike Bohley from Chippewa in a landslide. From the last decade to this year...easy choice.

Offensive player of the Year...Tyler Smith (NWN) on the strength of whatever scoring record he broke. Dreher (Nor), Weaver (WD), Epling (Chip), Harris (Nor) also in the conversation.

Defensive player of the Year...Ryan Bee (HILL) the guy was a monster at DE this year. reminded me of a bigger version of (Jon Zimmerly in 2012) the way he disrupted opponents backfields.

that's how I see it. I'm sure others view it much differently.

Mansfield Senior has a deal to host as many as 8 games in the playoffs if needed based on geography. They really don't care if they are still playing or not. They are in it for the cash.

Mike Bohley has to get some serious consideration for D5 coach of the year in the state.

I understand that is how it goes, but does seem to me that the Chipps coach deserves this award. I am sure he would tell you he does not care and just wants to win playoff game #2.

Interesting how the "Championship team" is no longer in the playoff picture, but the "turnaround team" still is.
