"We at the Big Ten don’t want to be like the SEC—in any way, shape or form.”

Honestly kind of like the changing of the guard in the B1G. We've at least caught up with the times offensively with recent hires of Beckman and Wilson. If Hazell gets the Purdue job he ran a variation of a spread at Kent. Bill O'Brien shaked things up at Penn State and is making the best out of that situation. Now it'll be a matter of these guys becoming relentless in recruiting. The SEC made that transition while Urban was there into what you see today. Now maybe it's our turn.

Added Malzahn to the OP.

Apparently Purdue is looking pretty hard at Darrel Hazell now since Butch Jones brushed them off.

Good hire for Auburn. I think they needed an offensive minded coach with ties to their very recent NC team

It's a downgrade. I know it's the SEC, but Arkansas is not an upgrade from Wisconsin.

Wasn't Bielema groomed for the Wisconsin job by Alvarez? I'm honestly shocked he left.

That's why I can't believe it. Did they throw a pile of cash at him? Why the hell would you want to go to a crappy SEC school (there are good SEC schools, but I don't think Arkansas is one of them) when he's been doing fine in the B1G?

Bielema has led Wisconsin to 3 straight Rose Bowls and now he's going to take over a mid level (at best) SEC team in the same division as Alabama and LSU? I could be wrong but I do not think he will be able to compete.

If Wisconsin were to grab someone like Butch Jones and Hazell going to Purdue, is this a net gain for the B1G?

He was making $2.6 Million at Wisconsin. I'm gonna laugh if he left for anything less than $4 million

They better get on the phone fast or Butch Jones may already be settled in Boulder

He was torn, and reports are he wasn't going to decide till sometime tonight. I hope he calls Wisconsin. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns down Colorado and waits either way.

That would be a "meh" hire. Pitt looked downright awful and uncoached at times this year.

Would not be surprising. Doeren would be an unsurprising choice as well if he hadn't just taken the NC State job.
