Ah yes. So are you putting it off because of surgery or the cost?

Ha thanks and I wasn't sure how you would root Sunday. I have two friends who are rooting for Baltimore but that may be because I know them personally.

I've got my surgery set up in another week. After about the 10th attack in a year I said it's about damn time to stop being stubborn. I'll be so happy when it hits the black market. I have no need for it. I had to stop eating steak and simply over eating-- two of the greatest things in life.

10 attacks in a year? Damn. Surgeon told my girlfriend I had a bunch of stones and it was good I had it taken care of now.

I was hoping to be knocked most of the time after surgery but they were only giving me percocet 5s and I think my 4 year nephew could take them and be fine. Haven't slept much and have been in pain more times than not.

That is not exactly what I wanted to hear...for you our four us that should have this done.
I hope it heals fast.

Don't get me wrong I was nervous before the surgery. My blood pressure was high and the doctors said it was most likely due to being nervous. It went smoothly though and I wasn't given better pain pills due to other health reasons. I'm a bigger guy so what they gave me would probably be good for you. I understand why you are hesitant but the surgeon told me my bladder was full of stones and that it was good I didn't wait any longer. As far as digestion goes if you have trouble afterwards you can always get supplements to aid you in that. Thanks for the well wishes. I appreciate it.

Today makes 10 days since my surgery. I had indigestion last night and had to make a run for the bathroom a few days ago after eating at Chilis but other than that it's been alright.

^^that kind of stuff goes away after awhile.

Note to the 'delayers'.... Usually once you know you have/are going to have gall bladder problems, it is good to get it out while you are still young, healthy and have a minimal of other medical problems.

hitsrus- are you a doctor or have you had the surgery? I ask because I am supposed to have mine out and have been putting it off. I have an attack about every 6 months that puts me in the hospital for a half a day. After that is gone I have no symptoms and can eat what I want and I work out about 1 hour a day 6 days a week and got my body fat tested about three months ago and was at 6.8% There has to be a way to stop this without surgery...that is what I keep telling myself. I do not have stones.

Well, I am a doctor but have no expertise in that area particularly. I had mine out 15 years ago in my early 40's. My symptoms were not nearly as bad as yours, but with time would get worse and I would have to get it out eventually. My surgeon told me frankly, that I could put it off for some time( maybe as much as ten years), but that my chances for complications would increase as I got older, my recovery time would be longer. As we get older, he said, other medical issues creep in...it would be better to get it done at 40 rather than 50+
.
The laparoscopic procedure is pretty easy compared to the old surgical method. I was back to work part time within a week. Full time 10 days- 2 weeks.

Keep me informed of what happen.

Yesterday at the VA I was told that I have to take some test for the potential Gall Stones and Bladder Problem and for good measure a colonoscopy also. Why I ask I don't have a problem ... something in my piss has triggered this... testing

The last time this happen I had Colon Cancer

Well I just had my surgery this Monday. There was several stones and one near the size of a golf ball. However, I'm incredibly incredibly constipated right now. Have any of you had that problem after the surgery? Sorry to go into detail, but it's bad enough that I've only had one small 'deposit' since Saturday (which I smashed 45 shrimp, fries, 2 biscuits, and a salad at Red Lobster that night). I've been drinking plenty of water, taking probiotics, and getting fiber--- but nothing to show for it. I need some heavy duty laxatives I suppose.

I was constipated for 3 or 4 days after my surgery.
