Get ready for an onslaught of Rudy references if Notre Dame beats USC, even if it has utterly nothing to do with anything at all lol.

So, just for fun...

USC beats ND.

FSU beats UF and wins ACC Title Game.

Who plays the winner of Bama/UGA for the title? Oregon? FSU? ND?

If Notre Dame loses, they have 0 shot at the title game.

I'd think a 1-loss FSU team or 1-loss Oregon team would get the nod.

I would say FSU, with wins over Florida and Clemson.

Finally someone with enough brains to not already give Bama the SEC title. Uga has a 50/50 chance in Atlanta.
I'll say Oregon, because their only loss is to a ranked team in OT. They still have to beat the Beavers next week though.

Then they fall into the 6-7 range and are out of the picture.

I believe just as many teams with winning records as OSU did.

BCS Projections just announced.

1. Notre Dame
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. Florida
5. Oregon

This isn't a good sign for Florida State, who may actually be projected 7th (behind K-State)...even if they were to win out, would they really be able to get to the #2 spot? They would need more help to reach the title game.

So if Notre Dame loses, it is very likely we're treated to SEC vs SEC again?

What a joke.

Obviously the whole scenario is contingent on USC beating ND. Seminoles would pass Florida (by beating them), Notre Dame (loss to USC), Georgia/Bama (SEC title game), and Kansas State whether they're 6 or 7 if they beat UF.

The only possibility would be Oregon staying ahead of them. I wouldn't argue either way. Oregon would have the "better loss", FSU would probably have the better wins.

@DavidMcCoyWSBT: #NotreDame, unranked to start season, is #1 at USC. USC, #1 to start season, is unranked vs #NotreDame. How about that.

A little off topic but, I Can't wait for the playoff to start in a couple years but the folks calling for an 8 team playoff are incorrect. Basically, this system gets the top 4 correct and makes crazy days like this possible.

I hope they never go beyond a four team playoff because it would take away from the importance of each individual game, that we currently see. Interesting day in CFB.

However, this just goes to show you that games are not played on paper and the idea that human voters and their inherent biases are one way of screwing things up. For instance all we were told is that ND was going to get rolled @ OU. Then we here that ND could not hang with Oregon. The Ducks are just too good for a team as offensively inept as ND to hang, etc.

The games are played on the field. We constantly see teams to whom experts give no chance pull out victories. I personally want to see ND vs 'Bama in the NC game. And we'll hear that ND has no shot. I'd bet on 'Bama but today shows us that we need to let these games play out and people don't have a clue who can beat whom.

Also, can I get a little of whatever Les Miles is on? Wth

I do not like the idea of someone issuing "BCS projections" before the voters (i.e., coaches and Harris voters) actually voting to determine them. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy and herd mentality. You put out 'projections', and the voters then use those as their guide on who they want to vote for. Which solidifes the original projections as being 'accurate' when really they influenced the outcome.

Welcome to the joy that is the BCS. I have been telling my friends that if Oregon, K-State, and ND all came out undefeated after this week, there would be lobbying to get ND into the title game due to the money and ratings ND brings. The projections was one way to do that.

I agree with you, it's a shitty way to do it. But there's so many other biases that come into play (conference, location, a voter's like/dislike of a certain team) that one more doesn't really play too much into it.

My new BCS standings.....based on how Bama dropped from 1 to 3 last year when they lost....

1. ND
2. Oregon
3 K State.

Dear SEC slobberrcockets....I just want the 2 best teams to play. Rmember back in 06...the 2 best teams played in late November. Final. OSU 42 Micjigan 39. The obvious rematch was reafdy to play out. But all the SEC sploogeheads said you can;t have the same conference playing for a national title. 5 years later, a different tune is chirped....and the all SEC title game (which can never happen, right) produced a thrill a minute 27-0 heart pounder. After every play..."SEC...SEC....SEC" Do you think the Michigan and OSU fans would have yelled "Big 10...Big 10...Big 10" after every play?

Oh.....and just think of the heart attacks being tended to had Ohio State only been slapped on the wrist for punishment this year.

tOSU vs. Notre Dame....and not a peep out the the most overrated conference to spoil the show.
