Kelly. Reid isn't an option. Banner lost a power struggle to Reid in Philly so chances are most likely "zero" of Reid coaching here. I think Reid replaces Norv in San Diego.

That being said, I don't think that either ends up in Cleveland.

For the most part, Andy Reid has been a very good QB developer. His system is usually "plug & play" where you could put almost any QB (except maybe Vick) in there and they'd thrive. He'd probably do well in Cleveland but it's a moot point because Banner likely isn't bringing him here.

I bet Reid takes a minimum of a year off if he gets canned.

I'd think the thing you'd have to look at with Kelly (or any high-profile college coach) is whether it's his system that works so well...or the simple fact that he has more talent in comparison to the average team on his schedule.

The disparity in ability between Oregon and the PAC-12's Colorado is way fucking bigger than that between any two teams in the NFL, so there's a good chance that gimmicky stuff that works great in college would be completely eaten up in the NFL. Which is why the Wildcat was a national championship offense in college and never really got to be more than a change-of-pace offense for specific situations in the NFL. I think Miami tried to do more with it, but that didn't turn out well and they're back to a more standard offense now.

Kelly has a national power team and a great college system. So, he gets elite athletes for that system, which makes it look better, because talent-wise, they're simply better than most anyone they play. What happens if you put him on a team in a league with a lot of parity where he can't out-talent almost everyone? I mean, when he played in the NC game a couple years ago, Auburn held his offense to 19 points after they averaged nearly 50 during the regular season and they were a team with a sub-par coach whose days are already numbered at the job. I think in the NFL, the odds are probably more likely that games like that would be in his future, as opposed to him leading the team to 30+ game-in and game-out while completely resurrecting a team's fortunes.

Rob Ryan with a defined OC that Ryan only gets to make decisions on fourth down.

I wouldn't mind Cleveland making a play for David Shaw, but I'm sure that won't happen.
