I will be giving him a standing ovation in my living room. But, do you think they will show this on tv? And if they do, how many times will we have to hear the phrases "shamed former coach" or "resigned in shame." They really beat that one to death

I'm not angry at all. Without the tat incident and JT's dismissal we wouldn't be on the path we are right now. It was a bittersweet situation, but right now I'm cool with results so far.

This. If he would have offered a bowl ban last year when everyone knew the team would be down, then OSU probably would not have been given a post season ban this year and look where we'd be.trep14;1323173 wrote:This. Gene Smith helped land us Urban Meyer. He is a-ok in my book. I really have not heard any valid points to suggest he could have handled the bowl ban any better. We're 11-0 and really, be honest, would you really want this defense to go up against Alabama THIS YEAR?

Sure as hell would rather them be there with a chance to win than just not being in a fucking bowl. He could have self imposed the ban two seasons ago. A travesty the University is allowing this Lying Hypocrite to partake in the celebration. I'll be booing long and hard from 10 - A, Row 25, Seat 14.
Half Fullers will always say we would not be undeafeated this year if Lyin Jimmy were still around and we would not have Urbie for future successes. I'm pretty torn on cheering or being upset with him. He did do a ton for the university, but he's one of the reasons we're not in the title discussion right now.
Is this the most bitter-sweet season ever for OSU? Having a shot at 12-0 and would be in championship game discussion and it's all for pride now instead of the crystal ball. What could have been.

I would not boo him, but I would not cheer him either as his actions and decisions brought great discredit to Ohio State. He deserves the punishment that he has received.

2. The best way to have handled the bowl ban would have been to self-imposed it last year...then the guys remaining on the team (Herron, posey, Adams, etc) would have suffered for their crimes rather than this years players who had nothing to do with it.

Short term pain for long term success. Next season buckeye fans will be laughing about this childish behavior at "the might have been"....Our bowl game is Saturday, and the 2013 season starts bright and early with Coach Mickey in the weight room Monday morning...

Any publicity is good publicity. Ohio State has been in the news for the travesty but has shown it's willingness to place academics before football and fire one of the games best coaches to do this. Rationale it however you want, but no..Saturday is not our bowl game. I usually agree with what you have to say, but I hate when people use that saying "any publicity is good publicity" because it's not true.
