If Canton McKinley were alive, they wouldn't be hosting on Saturday night either (remember, Fawcett didn't host any games last Saturday either, otherwise West Holmes-Steubenville or Poland-Dover would've probably have been there.
Fawcett has hosted when McKinley is still playing,Timken runs the stadium as Fawcett is also their home

This is the first year Dover has a QB that can properly run the spread he's equally damaging with his arm and legs. Not your average Dover 5 wide.

I think Cory Lisowski had numbers similar to Mason as both have rushed for about 1000 yds Lisowski may have had more passing yds his senior year Dover averaged 50 pts a game that year, two very similar athelets/quarterbacks

That was quite a season. Cory passed for over 4000 yards, we beat Phila two weeks in a row, then lost the regional final to LV, we just couldn't stop Storm Klein. Lights went out for a while and it was COLD!

Demetrius Farmer health is great and ready, i live right next to him and talk with him almost everyday. Love their family. don't forget about Vaiala Morris 37, Jason Clinker 62, Brady Foust 57, and Josh Cercone 55.bases_loaded;1318002 wrote:Dovers chances depend on the health of 45

I just hope all those years Coach Iff ran the wing T offense at Perry he would know its weakness. Because the reason for him to come to Dover and coach was because he wanted to run a wide open offense. he didn't like the fact when Perry got down in the 4th Qt. they couldn't come back. Dover ran the wing T years ago. in playoffs turn over killed them every year. a little history

We ran the Wing T till 2003. We stopped running it because we didn't have the size or athletes year in and year out to compete with the waterson, desales, big reds, etc. When you're a public school of our size you only get the athletes to run the wing T correctly every 5-10 years. Even then you're only an injury away from being screwed. This is what happened to the 99 team, probably the most talented team Coach had but injuries to the full back and wing back doomed them.
West Holmes has one of those every 10 years teams. Dover has one of the most balanced teams since Coach Ifft switched to the spread. If Dover wins or ties the turnover battle they'll win.

If Dover gets out to a fast start it could be a long (K)night (clever huh). If the Tornados go into the 4th qtr with, say a 2 TD lead, start the bus! That said, good luck to the Knights from the OCC!

Knight Nation baby!!
WH must win the TO battle. If they can force a couple picks or fumbles, they win. Also need a few stops on defense, which could be tough. Ready for a great game!

Coshocton's program turned around in the early 80's after going to the Wing-T and they have used it ever since. The school certainly has less available talent than Dover I might add. Granted the Redskins don't always produce a playoff level team (this year for examplebases_loaded;1319860 wrote:When you're a public school of our size you only get the athletes to run the wing T correctly every 5-10 years.
I would highly agree with that. For example, Coshocton was was firing on all cylinders in 2002 (including a rare win against Doverbases_loaded;1319860 wrote:Even then you're only an injury away from being screwed.
True. Whooda thunk West Holmes would have dominated Steubenville in the playoff's prior to the start of the season? But with that said this year's version of the Knights appear to be capable of doing it again.bases_loaded;1319860 wrote:West Holmes has one of those every 10 years teams.
Dover is just Dover. Yet you guys are an enigma to me. You consistently put good talent together year after year but when playoff season hits, it seems like the Tornadoes usually find a way to bow out.bases_loaded;1319860 wrote:Dover has one of the most balanced teams since Coach Ifft switched to the spread. As an ECOL fan I hope Dover does well, but as a Coshocton fan, I wouldn't be upset at all to see the Knights move on.
Best of luck to both teams.

I misspoke I should've said you only have the athletes to make a playoff run every 5-10 years and by run I mean win a few games. Deception and discipline can't overcome size and speed. We could run the wing T with the best but sometimes the other guys were just better. The spread became an equalizer, plus no lead every seems safe for the opposition.

this is very true ! long as massillon n they won't have a gm at pbts.RedRider1;1318357 wrote:Odd that we're in round 3, and among PBTS & Fawcett, this will be be the first game either site has hosted.
Guessing the Massillon folks are telling the OHSAA to not consider them for hosting a Saturday game so long as the Tigers are still alive.
