She basically told us no because the extra 25 hours would only increase her "income" by about $200 a month because she would receive her govt benefits. These are two examples of the many problems. Some people have no motivation or pride to not use welfare while others who have the work ethic and self pride are given no choice.

You can say people have agendas. I don't have an agenda just tired of Americans attitudes going from what can I do for my country to what can my country do for me. I will gladly pay taxs to help educate people but I also want them to keep their grades at least average and be able to pass a drug test each month.
This thread will already probably go to the politics forum so I'll contribute. The hard worker in the first scenario will likely be helped out by the Affordable Care Act which takes a major step towards helping out folks who work but aren't able to get health insurance.

Before Obamacare we've long paid for the people in the second scenario.

The affordable care act took a major step in improving the social insurance system...especially for the working poor.

Pretty sure I already said this guy is a douche or something equivalent. And I heard not one person bitching about the phone program, ever, before Obama was POTUS even though it's been around basically since fire was discovered.

Yeah, let's keep having, by far, the world's most expensive healthcare that doesn't provide (when you look at the overall quality of care) the best care or really anywhere near it. That sounds like a much better idea. People going bankrupt because they get cancer? Lazy douchebags should have made more money.

except where she serves both places already told their servers they wont get more then 29 hours so they don't have to pay for insurance

That is complete BS. Govt Student Loan payments are made out to the institution NOT the individual. C'mon man for an OSU gard that was dumb.

Who said anything about loans? These are grants given to minorities from them to go to school and they don't just cover tuition; they cover living expenses, books, etc.

Remember, the best way to prevent racism is to use racism. Studies are out there that basically say these types of programs actually enhance racism but you can't stop them otherwise you are labeled a racist. Can we please start treating everyone equal regardless of skin color? Gosh a ruddies, what a concept!

Even in that instance where the employers pass their rightful burden off, under the Affordable Care Act, she would be eligible for expanded medicaid or be able to purchase insurance on her own in the state exchanges with the help of subsidies.
