I think apathy over things like this is kind of dangerous. I mean, I'd first try to sway their opinion. But if they remained stuck on "I don't care what the govt does" I'd probably stop hanging out with them.

This is, of course, if it was just some acquaintance I got to know as an adult. Someone I have no ties to other than we just hang out sometimes.

Yeah I hear you. It's crazy these guys will just go along with anything this administration does/says simply because they voted for them and are too stubborn to admit the failures of their term.

I don't think stubborn is the right word. I'd say ignorant, because people like that are usually sheep that take whatever the media feeds them as fact.

I like the folks (okay, I actually hate them) that will respond to complaints about our daily drone murders overseas with things like "well, that program was started under Bush, so..."

I'm all "And you hated that guy, right? Considered him a war criminal, right? WHY THE FUCK DO YOU NOT THINK THE SAME THING ABOUT OBAMA?!"
