None of the Above

That the Republicans nominated the worst possible candidate. No way should anyone have lost to President Obama. And this post has no sarcasm.

...that more electoral college votes were cast for his oppoenet based on the popular vote in that particular State.

It's not more difficult than that.

Con_Alma is technically correct.

But #2 and #3 have merit. Take away his UAW bailout and ask the liberal media to do its job instead of actively campaigning for him and there's no way he wins this election.

I would blame a Romney loss on the Obama camp successfully demonizing Romney the person. They have painted the picture that Romney has a lot of money and is evil.

http://news.yahoo.com/republicans-blame-sandy-killing-romneys-momentum-124422264.html

According to this article, they're looking to blame Hurricane Sandy for being a real momentum-stealer. Hurricanes are considered "acts of god". The R-side is more of the church crowd, compared to the left, so this would mean their own god has abandoned them. That's gotta be a bummer!

You didn't list stupidity or mass insanity as an option.

You forgot to add that Romney hates women, poor people, and black people.

The question wasn't "Why did the Rs think Romney was the best choice out of anyone in the country to be their pick for president?"...

A good spinoff thread would be "how long will it take MSNBC or CNN to pull the race card if Obama loses."

he is worse than Michelle Bachman, worse than Rick Perry, worse the Newt Gingrich, worse than Herman Cain, worse than Rick Santorum. Gosh he started to do better when he abandoned many of the position he advocated for the tea party types during the primaries and convention.

Romney was not conservative enough and did not really hammer Obama on x,y, and z.
It will just fuel the fire for the crazy right.

Not an excuse, but Obama has done a good job of building an ever permanent underclass. If Obama wins, it will be nearly impossible for a Republican to win another Presidential election.

You would think, but when you have such a large population that is dependent on the government teet, things don't work the way you think they should.

Unfortunately this is true. The margin (that doesn't vote ideologically) seems pretty slim at this point. 4 more years and I'm afraid we are on an irreversible course toward a European model. Viewed in that light, what we've seen the last four years from Obama would be the norm. Fact.

You must be some kind of nut bag for even suggesting such. No group of men would ever manipulate the populace into dependency in order to secure their own political power. Benevolence and service are the sole motives of anyone in power in the central government. End sarcasm.

Truth is its the dirty little secret no politician would ever admit to. People do all kinds of things for power. Yes one them is keeping a dependency class. Lie, cheat, steal, fear, and yes history has shown even kill. But yet some believe here in the US we are immune to the human condition.
