Wonder if any tax payer money was spent on this?

Had 3 friends at the game. Disappointing for them, as they're never home to see games.

The one person who tunes into women's college basketball is probably quite pleased

Stand by my statement that this is just dumb. I wasn't being a hater or anything, it's just stupid.

Another blow to the east when it comes to scheduling. Only thing we can put on is a Winter Classic.

So this came is cancelled with no reschedule. Florida-Georgetown was called off after halftime. And SDSU-Syracuse was pushed to Sunday. Hope they learned their lesson.

No, Walmart was the sponsor for the event.

It worked out west last year, but you're going to get more favorable weather out that way in general. Maybe stick to out there if they insist upon it?

^^What I don't get is why must they "insist on it"? I am sure they will, but it's fucking mind-boggling. The event is so stupppppiiiiidddddd. It's a publicity stunt and completely unnecessary. Playing it inside of an enclosed setting at a military base, as Laley suggests and as was done in Germany, is the only way to do this. They need to open their eyes.

Agreed. I insist they don't attempt to play an outdoor game like this....ever.

They should probably just do it in Hawaii. Great weather, late games are in the afternoon here... And I could go. Make it happen!!

Per ESPN:
ESPN wrote:Event organizers said they want to try to play it again next year.

"We've got to go back to work and maybe become meteorologists and do some things different. We and the Navy are committed to the event and doing it right," said Alan Verlander, director of sports and entertainment for the city of Jacksonville.

Well at least they've learned their "lesson." Instead of moving the event indoors, they are just gonna get more "meteorologists" involved and continue playing on boats. SMFH.
