Gosh a ruddies there is so many other actions and attitudes that make Romney a terrible person. So many examples of duplicity, greed, bigotry toward those in need that show what a bad person he is. But this is sure a minor league example of his self serving deceitfulness. Gosh he claims he is not campaigning then holds an event in not North Dakota, not Alabama, not Texas but in Ohio.
“
Romney held an event at an arena here Tuesday that was initially scheduled as a rally, but the campaign insisted it was now a "storm relief" event. Still, it bore a very strong resemblance to the rallies he has conducted across the country — complete with a biopic of the Romneys that has been a campaign staple.”
Romney punches his hypocrites r us ticket again. Answering the question how can I use this disaster to carry Ohio.

You probably don't understand the logisitics of having a presidential candidate visit, but it's not like you can just up and do it wherever you want. This rally was already setup, so it makes complete sense to have it in a location where you were already going to be.

So true! He should have just cancelled the event and flown to Vegas for a fundraiser.

So he should've just had a campaign rally, and not took donations to help people! MSNBC would've been calling him a murderer had he done that.

SIDE NOTE : PEOPLE REALLY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS?

The guy is collection food and supplies for those who need it. Hes not undermining the Red Cross, hes adding to the efforts. "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country". Hes directly helping those in need, right now, not sending $10 to the Red Cross so they can buy something, then distribute it as they see the need....hes helping right fucking now.

I suppose with a week left before the election better late than never. But let's not forget he planned to campaign in Florida before apparently being advised [told] it would look bad if he didn't get back to Washington. I mean, it's not like the storm suddenly blew up the day he flew down to FL for a campaign event.

From NBC

"Romney had been scheduled to hold a full-fledged campaign rally in this same building until late yesterday, when the campaign said it was scrapping Romney's political calendar as Hurricane Sandy approached the East Coast.
Monday night, the campaign announced this morning's event was back on, but the focus would be storm relief — with Romney making no formal remarks, and no political agenda attached. Attendees were asked by the campaign to bring donations of non-perishable goods, which are to be trucked to a Red Cross office in Sewell, NJ — or to give to the red cross directly."

gosh a ruddies how did President Obama respond, lets ask the governor whose state was hit the hardest.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), generally a harsh critic of President Obama, has nothing but praise for the White House response to Hurricane Sandy.
“The federal government’s response has been great. I was on the phone at midnight again last night with the President, personally, he has expedited the designation of New Jersey as a major disaster area,” Christie, a top surrogate for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, said on NBC’s “Today.”
He added, “The President has been outstanding in this and so have the folks at FEMA.”
On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Christie was equally laudatory, saying “the President has been all over this and he deserves great credit.” Obama, he said, “told me to call him if I needed anything and he absolutely means it, and it’s been very good working with the President and his administration.”

He was asked repeatedly about his assessment of FEMA and to expand on his previous statements regarding them. He would comment and stayed true to his committment to not make formal remarks or carry out a political agena.

Like Obama had a choice but to designate NJ a disaster area. If only his decision making was as sharp in Benghazi.
