There were three books written in the early 90's that immediately followed ROJ.

I can't remember the name of them though, would have to find the box they are in. I do remember they dealt with Han and Leia's children, Leia learning how to use the force, Luke exploring the galaxy looking for children to train in the ways of the force, and a hell bent Admiral from the Empire on a mission to hunt them down.

I actually thought John Carter was pretty good. It sure wasn't Gone With the Wind, but it was entertaining.

Exactly.

Overall I'm excited for this. I should just read the books, but when I briefly looks last year there are like 45 Star Wars books so I had no idea where to even start.

Just messin' with ya. The new flicks won't ruin the entire series. Hopefully they are fun.

They will be (at least) above average for entertainment, just like The Avengers. Yea, The Avengers is a pretty good movie but no doubt it could have been better. Take out Robert Downey jr. and it's just so-so.

Revenge of the Sith was just as bad as Phantom Menace/Attack of the Clones. I can agree that the action scenes were more impressive, but the plot/dialogue still stunk to high heaven. People were laughing at the theater (and not in a good way) at this:

Anakin Skywalker: You are so... beautiful.
Padmé: It's only because I'm so in love.
Anakin Skywalker: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
Padmé: So love has blinded you?
Anakin Skywalker: [laughs] Well, that's not exactly what I meant.
Padmé: But it's probably true.

Star Wars sucks. Good for Lucas to get his money and get out.

Stars Wars was great - one of the defining movies in sci-fi.

But, yeah, just when you thought Lucas had already milked every last penny out of the franchise...

Sort of related, caught a bit the other day about the Bond series. Pretty remarkable how they have been able to keep it so consistent and high quality (even most of the weakest Bond films were still entertaining, at least).

Can't wait to see Buzz Lightyear in episode 7. Hope they find a way to work Woody into the story.

That's like saying the Model T was great because it defined cars.

1-2-3 suck ass compared to 4-5-6............animation blows ass, go back to stop motion and using midgets in costumes.
A-freaking-MEN!!!!!!!!! I can't stress how much I hate the animation crap in 1 & 2 especially. I could see doing it for scenes involving ships and stuff but armies of animated clones and wookies just looks ridiculous. Looks so phony compared to the old movies.

Can anyone give me a short summary of what goes on in 7-9?
