This is why I dont understand people who dont have their references attached to or with their resumes...

oh yeah...the good ole standby of they arent feeling well. That is a staple of every woman's excuse list.

Another thing I have noticed about women in the workplace.
If the guy is out of the office for whatever reason, vacation, on the road meeting clients or for any other reason the woman always states how "Crazy busy" it has been in the office that day with crisis after crisis.
If the woman is out of the office for whatever reason, the guy will always manage and when asked by the woman how everything went the answer is pretty much "eh, not too bad".

The woman will always make it seem like it was so amazingly busy/tough at work whenever the guy is not around, as to try and make him feel bad or whatever, but the guy will just pretty much brush it off as a normal day no matter how busy it was.

Or is it just me who have experienced that?

Yup. I can write a 10 page paper in my sleep. I regularly churning out 25 page research papers for some of the economics classes. Women are the worst.

State positions use one of those "fill out this form" deals and then you attach a traditional resume at the end.

You aren't suppose to attach references unless they explicitly ask.

And god forbid anything doesn't go smoothly; all hell just breaks loose. Christ, you are paid to fix mistakes regardless if you made them or not, I do all the time. Stop bitching and do your job.

I never attached references to my resume and I've never had a company ask for any. It's dumb when you think about; since the reference is only going to talk you up anyway.

It's definitely not you. We have a woman in sales who is a master of talking like that...even if it seems to the rest of us that her "super-tough" day involved looking up "OMG!" and other celebrity gossip sites, complaining to a co-worker she's friends with about her family, trying to stick her nose in everyone else's business and, in general, being a useless c*nt.

What is why? And when applying to jobs I apply to quite a few, I respect my references enough to not be handing out their contact information. Also reference checks are pretty much useless anyways and only happen if you're being seriously considered. No reason to have this attached to your resume.

Ha...been pretty much the same thing at all the places I have worked before. Just something that I have realized.
Even if it is balls to the wall busy and the woman is not in the office for whatever reason, I am not gonna tell her how busy/tough it was because it is her day off, no reason to send out some guilt trip ya know.
I can remember having some record days when the woman wasnt in the office. Had nothing to do with them not being there, jsut the way it falls sometimes, but no reason to make them ffeel guilty!

Damn..now I will sound like sleeper and say that you sound like you have worked at some places I have before! Let me guess, while doing all this non work they then get behind and complain how behind they get?! Or when they are to be on vacation for a week and ya have to do their normal daily stuff and realize you get it done in less than an hour but it routinely takes them until after lunch!!!


How about this......ya ever get them talking about weight loss and how much weight they have lost? I swear if the one lady I used to work with always "Lost 5 lbs" last week. NEver was 2, or 3, or 1, or 6, it was ALWAYS 5 lbs....yet ya could never tell!

The main thing with her is a little bit of the "I'm so far behind", but mainly her lack of any sort of positive relation with the graphics department (she sells the ads, they build them for her). She constantly bitches about how they suck and all that. Meanwhile, the GUY who also has the same position somehow doesn't have any of these problems. Mainly because he's polite and works with them instead of looking at them as somewhat stupid underlings. And when a mistake is made, he doesn't immediately assume it was all their fault and start bitching about/at them.

She's good enough at her job to get by despite not having the greatest work ethic, but her lack of people skills when it comes to those whom she works with and actually needs is mindboggling. It's like she thinks being a catty bitch is the way to go and is shocked that she has poor relations with some people.

We used to have a guy in HR who always complained about how busy he was, and how he needed an assistant. But he spent a big chunk of his day being a dumb ass and every day met in the bathroom with some of his buddies so they could all take a dump together... weird...

We gotta be talking about the same person, or an identical twin, or maybe it is just women in general.

Somehow, someway, everyone else sucks at their job and does it crappy and when there is a messup, THEY messed it up!

SOunds familiar huh?!!? Also in doing what the woman would she always would complain how when I would try to contact higher ups that I got a response and resolution alot quicker. That would piss her off to no end. Well, that was because I didnt try to contact them them when I knew there wasnt anything they could do, and didnt do so pretty much 3-4 times a week. I would reach out 1-2 times a month, and not 3-4 times a week so they knew when I did..they responded quickly because they knew it was legit.


And to get this back to a HR perspective...when they were hiring new people she was the one who went through the original search on the resumes and interviews. If a female came in who was remotely attractive....BAM, that was a strike against her. IT was a customer facing industry so I am not sure why, other than jealousy because she was the female version of Jabba the hut, but man oh man. She did end up getting someone hired.....a retired woman, in her 60's, with absolute no experience in the technology.

and she lasted like 6 weeks.

I had one good experience with an HR department at a former employer. The policy there was when you lost your job, you had insurance through the month of your last day worked. We found out my wife had cancer and the surgery was scheduled for August 6th. Middle of July, I was laid off with about 40 other people, so my insurance ran out at the end of July. The doctor couldn't push the surgery up or anything so we were pretty much stuck with paying for it. August 2nd, HR woman calls me to return to work the next Monday, the 4th. I was rather confused knowing that I was say down on the seniority list, but I didn't ask any questions and reported to work the next Monday like I was supposed to. At lunch that same day, my Supervisor came around and told me that I was laid off after today and that it would be my final day of work. They brought me back for one day just so I would have insurance through August and my wife's surgery would be covered. Can't thank them enough for that.

The rest have been assholes though.

I had to LOL when I saw this thread. We just got back from asking a question to our HR Reps. All we can get from them is call HR Corp Division. 5 people in HR on site and that is the answer to 90% of they questions they are asked.
