While it might have been odd to create a toilet goalie the science and engineering behind it is pretty fucking awesome.ccrunner609;1307563 wrote:that was ghey as hell........

You are comparing an adult who trains intensely to 5 and 6 year olds playing a sport. You are an idiot.ccrunner609;1307633 wrote:Sure they can run.....try to make a 6 year old train everyday and see if they can handle it.
Gee, I wonder if a 6 year old runner is as good as an NFL player. Derp.

If you can play soccer you can run. I went to reynoldsburg when the track and cross country teams were some of the best in the state. Each year we had at least one senior finish his soccer career and then go run track and earn a scholarship. These kids played soccer their entire lives and couldn't get a scholarship but ran track for 1 season and earned scholarships.

I believe 609 is referring to the amount of work necessary year-round for a competitive distance runner is unlike any other sport. You don't have an off-season with distance running.
We've all had this similar conversation before, right?
Face it, unless you were a competitive distance runner (received a college scholarship for running) you would not understand.

Yes, but you guys clearly understand what football players, soccer players, basketball players, wrestlers, hockey players, gymnasts, etc go through though. /sarcasmsaid_aouita;1308104 wrote:I believe 609 is referring to the amount of work necessary year-round for a competitive distance runner is unlike any other sport. Same thing goes for swimming. Any swimmer trying to be competitive gets 1 or 2 weeks off max per year (usually after the big meet to end the summer and winter seasons respectively. There is no off-season.said_aouita;1308104 wrote:I believe 609 is referring to the amount of work necessary year-round for a competitive distance runner is unlike any other sport. It's ridiculous to disparage other sports that require physical fitness as part of being competitive. Disparage bowling and golf all you want. But soccer, hockey, football, running, swimming, wrestling, gymnastics, etc., all are physically demanding.

No sport at a high level has an off season. You think college and pro athletes just sit on the couch and eat Cheetos in the off season?said_aouita;1308104 wrote:I believe 609 is referring to the amount of work necessary year-round for a competitive distance runner is unlike any other sport.
