How do you feel about police using drones to monitor people? I'm ok with it when they have a warrant, but I think this is a slippery slope and I don't want someone following me around at 30,000 feet without a reason.

Seems like it would be a waste of resources and money.
As for the issues of privacy, I forget the number but it's pretty astounding on how many cameras capture us on even a routine trip to the store.

Innocent people die in wars. Unfortunately.
But my wife watches predator and global hawk feeds everyday. They're very important. They guide army and marine troops either right to the enemy to take out, or can keep troops out of harms way.

Well my wife and her unit were just recognized for finding a potential ambush and saving 40+ marines from walking into it. I'm guessing they were thankful for the global hawk...

But even so, I'm sure most of the time they are finding nothing. I understand that argument. But when they do help save an American soldier.. That's enough!
Not sure I think cops should be using them though.

No clue. I don't ask too many questions. Plus she's not allowed to tell me anything. So I only knew because she was coined for it and was recognized.

"...privacy issues involving drones are no different than those presented by other aircraft and satellites, experts said. ..."
Seems about right. As far as law enforcement is concerned, if you can get a warrant for a particular instance you should be anle to use a drone for that case also.

Not to mention, how many cases of police using these to creep on hotties will there be? "Why is that drone hovering outside my neighbor's bathroom window?"O-Trap;1307339 wrote:Oh good. One more expensive piece of equipment that taxpayers get to buy.

Yeah, the potential for abuse, in addition to the funds required to purchase such a device, makes this far too problematic.gut;1307347 wrote:Not to mention, how many cases of police using these to creep on hotties will there be? "Why is that drone hovering outside my neighbor's bathroom window?"
