Deaths, or homicides? There's a big difference.

There were 669 homicides in Chicago in 1984 (about 1 in 4,500 residents). That number was up to over 900 in the early 90s (about 1 in 3,100), and is projected to be about 500 this year (about 1 in 5,000).

Hmmm...a city with millions upon millions of people living in a metropolitan area. I somehow don't think I'll need to run to Google to figure out which of the two he's talking about.

PROTIP: If it's deaths, Imma movin' to Chicago -- the land of immortals.

I'll bring my sword.

Even if it's made of paper towel tubes taped together.

Hey... I'm not the one that wrote deaths. :)

But that was a really good 30 for 30.
I think he lived up to the hype as a recruit for OU...not so much as a pro though.

he played half of his freshman year and 3 or 4 games of his sophomore year. can't really say he lived up to all of the hype. he was really good when he did play, but playing not even a full season's worth of games isn't living up to the best RB recruit of all time.

I am not even a Basketball "fan" per say, and I watched this from beginning to end. I really enjoyed the way it was presented, and the end where the trigger man got to speak his mind was almost mind numbing to me.

"Grandpa's words rang in my ears that day, don't show someone a gun unless you intend to USE IT".

That line in the story absolutely floored me, being someone who was brought up around guns. How about this....don't take the gun from your "Auntie" that morning, and you will never use it. Enough said. The guy couldn't even say out loud that he killed another man....

He was just "keeping it real." Gotta respect a man with a gun who keeps his word and shoots a man without one. A bona fide mobster.

Getting hurt is different than not living up to the hype. When he was healthy he was a beast.
