I'm not sure where I've made "an excuse" for Obama. I've mostly been discussing the strategy behind his campaign, which I've criticized, and how I see the election playing out. If you're curious, I actually didn't vote for Obama this year, but that hardly matters in the context of what I've argued here.
This is also not true. Many people were complaining about deficits during Bush, not sure what you were reading or hearing. Even then, the defiits were much lower.
I have a difficult time seeing how a Republican could in good conscience elect the Bush regime when the VP was quoted as saying "deficits don't matter," if it was truly a priority issue. I certainly heard some Republicans criticize the Bush admin, but most people are simply partisan hacks whose opinions on issues change with how they help frame the party the support. If that's not you, good job, I was referencing Republicans as a whole. The same can be said about Dems if it helps not to hurt your feelings.
