Did you happen to see Dakich's interview with Ryan after the game yesterday? He kept grilling him as to why Wisky didn't foul Hardaway at the end of regulation. Good stuff.Laley23;1386130 wrote:Dammmmmn it. Was scheduled to be off work today at 1pm. Now will be working a second event and won't be done till 7. See you guys around 10 with my first post of the game lol.

Yeah. Just one of the many reasons why I think he is awesome. He won't back down.vball10set;1386131 wrote:Did you happen to see Dakich's interview with Ryan after the game yesterday? He kept grilling him as to why Wisky didn't foul Hardaway at the end of regulation. Good stuff.

Illinois may cap off a hell of a week if they hold on here.

They held on. The Illini are one of the nation's big winners this week. The B1G should firmly get 7 NCAA bids now.

Groce and Illini with a HUGE week. Win vs IU and away win at Minny. They get to 8-10 they are in. Still could stumble. Playing well, but we have seen that their bad is pretty bad. Right now B1G has 7, but Illinois still needs to avoid a meltdown, imo.

They are pretty good at home. Purdue, Nebraska and Penn State all at home should be wins. Split at Iowa and at Northwestern, that will put them likely the 7th seed in the Tournament with a first round game against Iowa or Purdue. Illinois has a roadmap to 9-11 laid out, which would put them at 22-12.
This is all barring things go as planned, which really hasn't happened at all this year...

Oh, I agree. I just think a couple slip ups and they are back to the outside looking in. They have HUGE (# wise) wins though, which should be enough versus other bubbles pending how it all plays out. I say # wise because Gonzaga and Butler, no matter how you slice it almost always end up better on paper than in reality. Neither team racks up the RPI/and overall Ws in a power conference, imo.Azubuike24;1386477 wrote:They are pretty good at home. Purdue, Nebraska and Penn State all at home should be wins. Thats plenty alone. But also beat Butler on neutral Maui. Those wins will smoke almost any other bubble teams wins.Ironman92;1386503 wrote:Beat?

One of?! THey are THE big winner this week. A bubble team with a top 25 road win and win over the #1 team in the country. You cannot get a better week.Azubuike24;1386473 wrote:They held on. The Illini are one of the nation's big winners this week. The B1G should firmly get 7 NCAA bids now.

I know Indiana has wins over:
22 Minny
3 Michigan
8 MSU
10 OSU
Indiana St., for a Mid-Major, has some good wins:
Ole Miss
Wichita St.
Creighton
Miami (FL)
...Also, have some terrible losses lol. Actually a lot like Illinois. The Mid-Major version, if you will.

DUKE: Louisville (RPI #9), Minnesota (RPI #13), N.C. State (RPI #17), Ohio State (RPI #23), VCU (RPI #39), Temple (RPI #39), Kentucky (RPI #45)
The Blue Devils have more wins versus the Top 50 RPI than any other team mentioned here (might be more than anyone in the country, but not sure)
MICHIGAN: Pitt, Kasnas State, N.C. State, Illinois, Ohio State.
BUTLER: Marquette, North Carolina, Indiana, Gonzaga, Temple

I think anything less than a final 4 showing is a disappointment.
Laley..since you have the pulse on the program better then most, what is the thinking of Oladipo coming back? I am pretty certain that Zeller wiil. I heard he is on pace to graduate in 3 years and coming back next year would be it for him. This team goes how Oladipo goes.

Oladipo is graduating this semester. He is all but gone, and good for him. I dont think anyone thinks its a bad decision. If he keeps going the way he is, he will be a Dwayne Wade type recruit going op 5.
Zeller I think a lot of people have at about 50-50. His family is so high on academics, and while his brothers were really good enough to leave early, like Cody is, they all stayed 4 years. Personally, I think he stays, but I wont be upset or surprised by him leaving.
