According to the polls, Obama is going to win so you're just throwing away your vote if you vote for Romney.sjmvsfscs08;1295863 wrote:I'm voting Mitt Romney and then writing-in Ron Paul or Gary Johnson for every other office on the ballot (except maybe Brown/Mandel). That'll show em!

That's great. But you won't change a damn thing.pmoney25;1295831 wrote: You can keep saying I am throwing my vote away or that I am just reelecting Obama but so what. I am not going to vote for someone who I think will dig us deeper in the hole and that's why I won't vote for Obama or Romney.
All of you guys gung-ho to cast a protest vote - Dems/Repubs will never give a shit as long as they keep getting re-elected. And it's HARDER for a 3rd party to emerge against entrenched incumbents.
Don't throw in the towel because you can't get your way. Start with what you can change. And what you can change are the incumbents that are screwing up. You guys just don't get that by not firing failures you enable a model of success for future politicians to emulate, one that your presumably oppose. First and foremost the incumbents have to be held accountable.
Things will never change so long as failures continue to get re-elected. I don't know what you guys do or where you work, but that garbage don't grease the bacon. If you run a company that way you are guaranteed to fail just like the Washington you're so distraught over.

If Obama is re-elected then there is no incumbent in 2016. Clean slate.
If Romney is elected he's the next shitty incumbent that everyone will want to replace in 4 years and obviously we'll have to vote for the democrat running because its HARDER for a 3rd party to emerge against entrenched incumbents. Lather, rinse, repeat.
No fuckin' thanks.

No offense, but that's the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard. Bending over for 4 more years of Obama because Romney might have a bigger penis and use is more. "Thank you sir may I have another" is right. You know, I'm just not sure you're the answer...so I'm going to let him continue to destroy my company for 4 more years because I don't want to possibly have to fire you 4 years from now.
And in 4 years you'll have two shitty choices again because while you do plenty of protesting you don't hold anyone accountable. It's pathetic, it really is.

No offense taken. What you said was the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard but I'm not a raging jackass and can respond without being a total dick. No offense.gut;1295976 wrote:No offense, but that's the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard. Bending over for 4 more years of Obama because Romney might have a bigger penis and use is more. Think so? If obama is re-elected this nation will collapse prior to 2016; you'll have Dictator obama to contend with then. Good luck with that.justincredible;1295969 wrote:If Obama is re-elected then there is no incumbent in 2016. Clean slate.
Any vote that helps elect obama is not only a wasted vote, it is a vote for the end of the republic; sorry to say.

Like any good businessman, Romney is pulling one over on you guys. It is apparently obvious Mitt is already running away from his "severe conservatism." And to Gut and the others we already saw what a Romney presidency would look like. He basically is a copy of W. I'm sorry Quaker but this republic is already ruined because of both the dems and repubs.
Don't worry Dems. If Romney wins you will get the White House in 4 years.

Yeah. Been like that for a little while, it seems, where after every four years, the average person is basically like, "WHOA, please give us anyone with a pulse on the other side to replace this douche!". Obviously, the lack of a pulse in Kerry prevented the switch from happening in 2004, but it seemed inevitable that it would until Kerry's lack of said pulse kept things business-as-usual for the next four years.pmoney25;1296001 wrote:Like any good businessman, Romney is pulling one over on you guys. Kind of a joke, really, when you consider that not only are we typically being asked to consider the "lesser of two evils" guy AND THAT it seems from reading here that a decent number of people are cool with that and think looking for superior alternatives is what's stupid.
Or at least are on the surface, since it doesn't take much reading between to lines to infer that "wasting your vote" is a non-subtle way of saying "if you don't vote for MY GUY, he might not win!!!!". Which is at least different from actually believing everything's cool and more of a case of trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit. Or convincing themselves the shit they're eating is actually real food.

None of your votes matter. You get absolutely no utility from voting other than a sticker and a warm, fuzzy feeling that you did your "civic duty." It's an exercise in time wasting from a purely economic standpoint.
With that in mind, if you're going to vote, it makes little sense NOT to vote for who you truly agree with the most.
