PJ Hairston is playing such great basketball today, offensively and defensively.

PJ decided that Carolina was NOT losing today. Great win with their backs against the wall. Beating FSU and UNLV shows what the team is capable of doing, but they need to do it consistently.

They said no fracture and is being released.

But, that doesnt mean he is "ok". Just no serious damage. Hopefully he is back on the court soon. The catalyst for Butler this year. They need him.

Mississippi State and Auburn are 2-0 in the SEC. League so bad...

Connecticut winning at Notre Dame. I'm really shocked at how well UConn has responded under Ollie in a meaningless year. If they would've played half this tough last year they might have won 30 games.

Elston Turner balling at Rupp. 35 points thus far.

Nerlens Noel flirting with a quadruple-double. 13 points, 9 rebounds, 7 blocks, 6 assists, 4 steals thus far.

Turner just hit another 25-footer with 2 on the shot clock. Single-handedly taking down the Cats...

Reality I guess. Losing the first SEC game under Cal at home, to an A&M team that is a bubble team.

A&M is adjusting to the SEC pretty smoothly. Road wins against Bama in football and UK in basketball.

Elston Turner scored 40 points on 14-19 shooting. Maybe the best single performance of the season thus far. Guy was Devan Downey reincarnated...

About a 40% standing ovation by the Rupp crowd when Turner was taken out of the game at the end.

He might have also saved the season. With an 0-3 start in the ACC, Carolina probably doesn't recover mentally and the season could easily be lost, especially with a game at N.C. State approaching. This might be enough to propel a run at the NCAAs.

In light of that spirited effort today in Tallahassee, I am really hoping that Kelly and Curry are back by February because the Heels definitely have talent -- Roy just needs to figure out a way to better utilize it; today was a start -- and in a rivalry game, you just never know.

That's impressive.

As a Duke fan, it reminds me of J.J.'s 40 points on 11 of 13 shooting against Virginia as a senior. That performance and Turner's today really demonstrates just how unimpressive Jack Taylor's 137 points on 71 three-point attempts really was.

No. 1 Louisville in a good one early with UConn in Gampel Pavilion. Huskies up 15 to 10. He's highly overlooked due to UConn being ineligible, but Shabazz Napier is a straight up star in the making. He's without a doubt IMO one of the top 15 point guards in college basketball right now and next year will be a NPOTY contender. He's averaging 17.5 points and 4 assists per. He has 10 already tonight in just eight minutes.

I hate UConn, but not as much now that Calhoun is gone. I think Kevin Ollie has done a great job so far.

Game is in Hartford, actually. Guess I wasn't paying close attention.

Louisville on a roll in the second half, up by five with 14 left. UConn has been really tough, though. If not ineligible for the tourney, it would be a serious contender in March, the type of under-the-radar team that could reach a Final Four. Much like Jim Calhoun's 2011 squad.

As good as Ben McLemore has been for KU this season as a freshman, I didn't realize he is apparently a serious candidate to go number one in this summer's NBA Draft. If he continues on this course and is all but guaranteed a top five lottery selection, I have to imagine that the chances of him being one and done are very high. Like Anthony Bennett of UNLV, it'd be surprising if he returned but scary if he did.

Maybe hank will come out of retirement and help me with this question. Haha.

Yep he's been near the top of draft boards with Noel and Zeller almost all year, consistently.

BTW. No clue who or how many watched Indiana vs Minnesota on Saturday. But the last 10:05 might have been the best basketball I have ever watched...no bias.

FG-FGA 3FG-3FGA FT-FTA ASTS TO
14-17 7 - 8 1 - 2 10 1

It was 16-15 IU, at that point in time. At the half it was 52-29. Those numbers are just staggering. It was a thing of beauty to watch. No mind it was at Assembly Hall. Minny is a top 10 team and a top 20 defense (KenPom for defense, AP and Coaches for team rank).

Thanks. Haven't really been following the boards at all.

Laley, thoughts on Zeller? Any chance he comes back (perhaps if Indiana leaves business unfinished)?
