You send me to a link for a top 200 albums of the 2000's, you have to be joking.There are not 100 albums made in the 2000's that I would even consider listening too. I understand that everyone has a different approach when it comes to music and what they enjoy, but there is a real difference between the music I listed and the music posted on this thread, but I understand that you are a college student and for some reason most current students believe they know better than most former students, there is nothing wrong with you having self confidence, you will need it when you get out in the real world. What you consider amazing music may be nothing more than a bunch of noise that irritates more people than it actually appeals too, which goes the same for my choice of music.

I saw FUN. at Bonnaroo and they were really good in concert. I think one was previously in The Format the others were in Steel Train and Anathallo. I'm suprised that Mumford's song I will Wait isnt in the top 10 since its the number 1 selling album of the year.

Except you contradict yourself there by stating that "there is a real difference between the music I listed and the music posted on this thread".

And I don't mean that to say you're stupid, not the case, but rather that seems like a "well I like the music I have just fine, no need to listen to other things" attitude which has always struck me as a poor way to go about things.

I'm not saying you need to stop listening to the genre of music you like and take up indie pop or anything like that, but there's excellent music that's being made in all kinds of genres and it's a little bit ridiculous act like everything is terrible and some golden age of music is gone. That's nothing but misplaced nostalgia and bitterness. You didn't walk uphill both ways in 15 feet of snow, or whatever the music version of that would be.

I like the tough guy attitude when it comes to music. It looks good on you guys.

It's okay to be an adult man and enjoy some of this music, and not be embarrassed about it. A lot of it is catchy. I will admit, you get tired of hearing the same song over and over sooner than you did with classic rock and some old school rap....but it's not less manly to admit you will kick it over to a Top 40 station and enjoy some of the tunes.

My oldest son and I have been jamming (like seriously thumping) to Gangnam Style every morning on the way to taking him to school. He loves it, I have fun with it.....and obviously I'm not a gay homosexual Elton John, Liberace.

Not a bug FUN fan but the song is catchy. I like the Alex Clare song. Heard it at a strip club while getting a lap dance and really liked it.

I concur. I like the old stuff...but I also keep current.

The only thing, like I said above, is the newer music seems to "get old" a lot faster.

But like most have said, I'm not a big fan of the current state of music, even in the country music genre, which I listen to the most. There is some good stuff, but mostly, I can't get into it like I can the old outlaw country.

That! It was a back room dance and when the chorus kicked in...damn it was good.

Overall there isn't a lot of new music I like, even in the Rock/Metal genre. I don't think it sucks, but my tastes have changed a bit and overall I'm not as into new music as I was a couple years ago and when I was in college.

It's not really a music era thing for me, it's just that pop music really sucks for me. I'm more of a metalhead. Prefer older stuff, but there is a lot of good stuff still coming out...just usually have to go underground. Which means it won't be in these charts-o-limitless-crap.

I just have never had the need for every song to be bad ass or a masterpiece. I like variety. Often I just don't care about the words or meaning as much as I care about the sound, beat and singing of the song. Knowing what the hell they are singing is nice too....but not essential. I like a little bit of everything but I like pop probably more than anyone on here. It's not ground-breaking but I like catchy and beat and don't care about the meaning. I know "Starships" by Nicki Minaj is profoundly retarded and I don't know what the hell she's saying....but it has a good feel to it and I like it. Big deal.

I have been to about a dozen "non-fair" concerts in the arenas and every one of them has been outstanding.....from Celine Dion to Billy Joel to Martina McBride to Bon Jovi to Keith Urban and so on.

I drive 70 min to work every morning before daylight....I need not think about the greatness as much as I need to stay awake. The XM pop, 80's and 90's often fit the void.

Good beat? Belt it out? Catchy?.....I need some of that gay shit mixed in....but variety is key.

Music today is absolutely horrible. When you have retards like Kesha and Nikki minaj that can't sing worth shit and annoy the fuck out of everyone. At work they had kiss on and I couldn't stand it. Thank god I only listen to country anymore. Also that Taylor swift song makes me want to shoot myself

There is great music but when your computer crashes and I mainly listen to country anymore. All the shit on the radio is terrible. I really just want to punch Nikki minaj in the face.

One of my computers crashing would do nothing to my music. And even if it did I'd still have my phone and things like Spotify.

I think Minaj is terrible just the same as you, but I also feel the same about almost all country music. But I don't say that "music today is terrible" simply because most of the stations are either pop or country in this area. It's simply not true.
