If you would have told people Homer Bailey would have a 3.75 ERA and throw a no-hitter, people would've called you crazy.

Most would have bet there was a better chance he would be out of the rotation.

Makes you wonder if there is any chance they throw him in game 2 in the playoffs. I would, and throw Latos in game 3. Knowing Dusty though, he'll stick with Arroyo #2, on the road.

I said in a thread in the first week of the season he was going to be awesome this year

I've always been a Bailey fan. Had a bet this year he would out-perform Kyle Lohse (definitely losing that one too). Still, not much more could've been expected.

Anybody want to vote that Dusty stay home during the post season? Speier has been doing a good job and best of all Stubbs isn't hitting 2nd everyday

Yeah with his mind already averse to pitching well in home games, that could be true! Reds have really made excellent use of the 3 total runs they have scored the last 2 days.

I dislike Dusty but don't believe for a minute he isn't calling the shots from home.

From the predictions thread:
Bailey wins: 13
Bailey ERA: 3.90
Sweet.

Votto missed 2 months and Cozart then missed almost 2 weeks. Ideally, Stubbs hits 7th, which is how they planned it since opening day.

85 ER in 204 innings. 6 ER in 6 innings and a ND in St. Louie on Wednesday and it's a perfect prediction.

What a fitting way to clinch the Buccos 20th straight losing season.

Futility at it's finest.

Technically they've only clinched a non-winning season.

Go to the MLB.com and watch the video that says bailey calls for catcher. Some foreshadowing from pirate announcer.

Hanigan hasn't caught too many of Homer's games this season. On post game Ryan was saying he's been playing with him since 2006, and that Homer has progressed a lot and has learned to pitch. He was very hard headed before and wanted to try to throw is past people, and now has matured and tries to "pitch" now.

Pirates scorekeeper..... Definitely not a homer.
