He fined the Lakers for sitting two starters in a final regular season game in 85.
i just don't know how stern has a say in what the spurs do with their team (and yes i understand the unique circumstance around the league-owned hornets with the chris paul/lakers trade)

I definitely don't agree with Stern, he is over stepping.

But what Pop is doing is a joke. They are 16 games into the season. The guys he is sitting barely average 30 min a game. They don't need rest.

Danny Green is 25 years old. TWENTY FIVE YEARS OLD. He sure as hell doesn't need an extra day off.

What do you think Pop is trying to do then? Give a big old F U to Stern?

And instead of basically sealing it, Bron clanks the first FT.

But he has been a monster in the last 5-6 minutes.

Stern will announce some sort of fine tomorrow, I'm sure.

He said "substantial sanctions." I'm thinking it will be a 6 figure fine to the organization. If he tried to fine Pop, it would NEVER fly with the Coaches Association.

LOL at the NBA. No longer about good coaching and trying to win championships. QQ the fans didn't get to see so-and-so. What a joke.

NFL does it every year right before the playoffs.

If Im Pop, my next press conference after the "penalties" is simple:

"Hey guys, how are you all doing today? Good. Well, its simple. Fuck David Stern. Thanks."

What's funny is viewership was probably higher because of the publicity the "decision" has gotten...

A coach should be able to do what he wants with his team. In High School our soccer coach always gave about 5-6 of us a game off toward the end of the year to rest for the playoffs. I know as a teenager even then my body appreciated a couple days of no activity to heal all the minor aches and pains.

Yeah....Pop is just pissed at his 4 road games in 5 days and is just telling Stern to kiss his ass. He gave away a game they were least likely to win anyways in trade for a day of rest for 3 veteran guys and a young one.

This is not the same as resting the last few games before the playoffs in basketball or the NFL (which is only done when something they want has been clinched)....or MLB as they play twice as many games and always play 3 or 4 game series.
