How is it stupid? He will be a pretty big trade chip and could be part of something bigger. If not he gives you a 1 year stop gap at sf for a playoff run this year

Just don't see how adding a vet like pierce really helps the cavs. He's really fallen off the last year or two.

Veteran leadership. He's not going to be asked to be a 1 or 2 option. Honestly this is would be part of another trade grant has lined up.

I HATE HATE HATE Paul Pierce. But it's a smart move for cavs. He comes in and Helps the young players for half a season. If he's having a good year, his expiring contract becomes a really nice trading piece at the deadline for a contender.

What if the Cavs are a playoff team though? Do you think they would trade away Pierce?Midstate01;1461718 wrote:I HATE HATE HATE Paul Pierce. Pierce? Is he going to teach young Cavs how to recover from wheel chair required injuries in a matter of minutes?
I can't stand the idea of him being on the team.

And I look forward to karma biting him hard for his wheelchair incident.

Yes you still trade him if it gets you picks into next years loaded draft or a good young player.

I can't stand Pierce. I don't see a downside to this move for the Cavs though.

If we have someone behind him ready to move into the lineup (ie if we go Porter #1 for example).like_that;1461722 wrote:What if the Cavs are a playoff team though? Do you think they would trade away Pierce?
Gee cannot start if this team wants to make the playoffs.

I don't have an NBA team but I'd prefer Pierce stay the hell out of Ohio. I can't see him teaching anything.

I won Polo shirt in 8th grade for winning a basketball competition. It had a Gatorade logo and was autographed by Doc Rivers.
Truly a great story.

For a 2015 first round pick. Not a bad move for Boston considering they were going to most likely split ways with Doc anyways since he wanted nothing to do with the rebuilding process.Trueblue23;1461845 wrote:Doc Rivers is about to be shipped to LA.

I actually wasn't that thrilled about Paul Pierce being on the cavs, but since F4F also doesn't like it, I'm now on board. Think it would be a great fit.

It'd be alright for a stop-gap for next year to get to the playoffs. Cant complain if you are just giving up second round picks, because they essentially never pan out anyways. Could use them for trade bait, though. But after picks 5-7ish, the talent seems pretty equal.

It was Fall of 1988...our new basketball coach was from Chicago (how the helll or why he came to Jackson was beyond me)....but he knew Doc pretty well from playing ball against him in HS. Doc was becoming pretty popular getting the ball to Dominique......
I have no clue where the shirt is though.
How old did you think I was? (Somewhat afraid to ask)

Deng seems like just an average NBA player, I would have to imagine that even in this weak draft a top 5 pick you would hope would at least turn out better than average.sportsfan24;1462260 wrote:Bulls are looking to trade Luol Deng to the Wizards for the #3 pick.

Deng is an all star that avgs 16 pts a game. That's well above avg. Hope this helps.Fly4Fun;1462264 wrote:Deng seems like just an average NBA player, I would have to imagine that even in this weak draft a top 5 pick you would hope would at least turn out better than average.
