Spolstra should be the goat today for losing the game because he brought Wade back in when the Heat were owning the Spurs. Instead SA can't get a rebound and miss free throws down the stretch.

Win or lose, he was going down swinging with his best players. Not pops, need to stop? Duncan get off the floor X2. Need to shoot a3 pointer? Duncan splitter get out there

This seems to be the story line that the talking heads are either forgetting or not daring to touch.bases_loaded;1460007 wrote:Spolstra should be the goat today for losing the game because he brought Wade back in when the Heat were owning the Spurs. But the Heat offense was rolling with the spacing from the extra shooting threat. LeBron had room to get inside to make plays at the rim. The Heat offense just looked so much better.
Then Wade came in and the Spurs sagged. They completely clogged up the paint with Wade out there. That allowed the Spurs to stop the heat (force turnovers on LeBron as when he went to the paint there was nothing there).

Uhh yeah it's been pretty bad. One great game doesn't make up for a boring series.Pick6;1460000 wrote:Worst finals ever. Amirite guys?!

^This. Putting Wade back in allowed the Spurs to sag more without respecting his deep shot and it got San Antonio back in the driver's seat and they blew it...bases_loaded;1460007 wrote:Spolstra should be the goat today for losing the game because he brought Wade back in when the Heat were owning the Spurs. Crazy to me how much Wade killed the Heat's momentum.

I disagree. The fourth quarters haven't been good but the coaching adjustments throughout the first 3 quarters game after game have been a joy to watch.SportsAndLady;1460016 wrote:Uhh yeah it's been pretty bad. One great game doesn't make up for a boring series.

You said it better than I did. It was almost stunning how good the Heat looked in that stretch without Wade not out there and Lebron being able to get into the paint.Fly4Fun;1460012 wrote:This seems to be the story line that the talking heads are either forgetting or not daring to touch.

Is there any professional league more "fixed" than the NBA? What a fucking joke

How would you say last night's game was "fixed"?
Officiating was atrocious, but I don't see how it favored Miami. SA had it it in the bag and totally fucked up.

At what point was it fixed?
San Anotonio not rebounding on a LeBron brick, allowing for him to make?
Leonard missing a free throw to put them up 4 with 20 seconds to go?
San Anotonio not rebounding on another 3 point basket, allowing Ray Allen to catch and shoot with 5 seconds left?
Or are you saying once it got to OT the fix was on for a game 7 because Manu didn't get the call?

Heat/Spurs finals. Where the best thing about it was the coaching adjustments.
That's when you know the series sucked.

I really don't understand how people can claim that was fix. There was terrible officiating throughout the game. The Spurs, once again shot more FT's (Even as the away team). The Spurs all but had the game won until the Spurs went 1-2 on two separate trips to the FT line AND gave up two offensive rebounds.
That's not the ref's fault, that's the Spurs losing it.
Heck, the NBA even had the security and trophy ready to go out at the end of regulation until that choke job.

Maybe not for people simply drawn by star power, etc. but should have been enjoyable to basketball fans.SportsAndLady;1460054 wrote:Heat/Spurs finals. Where the best thing about it was the coaching adjustments.

I would say it's been more entertaining than last year's final.

I just can't get over how poorly pop coached down the stretch. Twice the heat have been bailed out by opposing coaches these playoffs

Refs didn't lose it for the Spurs, gtfo w that. Im hoping in game 7 the Spurs go up by 1 and Lebron misses 2 free throws to lose it.

I fear it won't be close. I'm feeling a 105-85 type game.
Spurs are too old to recover and beat them in Miami

IMO there is just no way the Spurs will get blown out in a game 7 in the NBA Finals. Duncan, Pop, Parker wont allow it. I don't even think fatigue will be an issue unless in goes something like 2 OT's.

Or just make your damn free throws down the stretch. Think they had two straight 1-of-2 appearances in their final possessions and with just one of those being a 2-of-2 trip, there'd be no overtime to speak of in the first place.Pick6;1460000 wrote:Worst finals ever. Amirite guys?!
Anyways smh at the spurs. Get one of two defensive boards at the end of regulation and you are a champion. Anything can happen, but virtually no chance I can see them winning game 7

I'm going out swinging with my best players on the floor. I'm not benching parker and Duncan in the clutch.

Pop coached last night the same way he always does and i'm sure hell do the same thing again. I'm sure he's very interested in what you'd do though. You should probably shoot him an email.gport_tennis;1460092 wrote:I'm going out swinging with my best players on the floor. I'm not benching parker and Duncan in the clutch.

Here's a legitimate question:
Which shooting guard is the bigger liability to their team?
Dwyane Wade or Manu Ginobili?
Both had 1 great game where they were a hero for their team and reminded people of their former glory. But other than that, both have been pretty terrible, not only relative to their abilities in the past, but just in general.
Dwyane wade has better statistics overall for the series, more points, higher shooting %, less turnovers.
But when Wade is in the game, the Spurs clog up the paint, and the whole Heat offense seems to get slowed down. LeBron isn't a threat to drive as there is nothing there, and when he does he either has to make a shot with a very high degree of difficulty or he makes a turnover.
Manu does have worse stats, and if the ball goes to him, bad things are going to happen as he can't seem to do anything right. But it doesn't seem like the Spurs offense stutters as much as the Heat's offense does when each respective player is on the floor. I think because Wade seems to be a much bigger detriment to the entire offense, while Ginobili just personally sucks (as long as he doesn't get the ball and try to do anything the Spurs still work), I think Wade is the bigger liability.

Manu is the bigger liability. All he does is put up horrible shots and turn the ball over. At least Wade can still play some D and only puts up a couple horrible attempts a night.

I've never seen him take out his stars in clutch moments? And the play call for the 3 pointer? He has a great resume and is the best in the game, but he made poor decisions for sure down the stretch
