Good observation. Though if I had to guess, Hankins was probably trying to get some payback. Sparty is as dirty as they come.

I have no idea what was going on, didn't watch any of the game. But I saw that tweeted/retweeted yesterday after the game all with "Hankins gets eye gouged" with no mention of him clearly having his hand inside Sparty guy's helmet doing the same.

Yeah, and honestly, I was so focused on the Sparty guy that I didn't even notice.

I'm a Browns fan but I have never lived or worked in Cleveland nor have I ever worked for the Browns. Can I use the term "we" if I'm happy when the Browns win? Well, ok, bad example but you get my point.

Hey, I've paid plenty of "Ohio state" and local taxes...a small portion of which eventually trickles it's way to THE Ohio University as well as THE Ohio State University coffers. Do taxes count?
Anyone can be a buckeye fan but not many should be using the word "we" when refferong to the team.

I personally think Gholston being allowed back in the game is a bigger issue.

Maybe you should lay off the refferong. It's clouding your judgment. ;)

Ya, the whole wind knocked out was a complete farce. As pointed out earlier... Braxton Miller's reaction is all you need to see. He was laying perfectly still because Gholston was out and he thought it was a head/neck injury.

And Gholston's lack of production/affect on the game after that shows he was no longer "there." Or to me at least it seemed like he didn't really do much after that play.

Much bigger, and his glassy eyes while walking off the field supports this.

But they care if your helmet comes off your head....even if it's a mild contact play. If you can get your hat back on your head before the next play, why the hell can't you play? I don't get this new rule.

I think that the rule is to try to force players to wear a helmet that fits more like they're supposed to. This in theory (a proper fitting helmet) would help cut down on concussions.

...and I TOTALLY agree with that...as a former player, we weren't even allowed to sit on our helmets. They were not seats, they were there to protect us, so you respect them. (though I have a strong feeling it was to keep the linemen off them so they didn't break! haha)

They say its for concussions, but watch the players go to the sidelines....the coach goes "are you ok?" They say "YES" they are back a play later. Just seems like a waste to me. You KNOW when someone gets their bell rung. I've been on the sidelines of games where you KNOW someone got their bell rung hard. It isn't THAT hard to point out and diagnose....unless...they are a star player that a team needs. THAT'S when heads turn the other way!

So the solution would be an unbiased doctor on the sidelines of BOTH teams, who immediately examines any player who gets their helmet knocked off.

This will never happen, and we ALL know this. Also, some of the most brutal hits where people have had to be taken off......they STILL have their helmets ON....and they have to REMOVE the face mask to work on them. Just some food for thought.

Amen.

The wind knocked out excuse was the most laughable thing I've heard in a while. I said it as it was happening.

Overall pretty happy with the Buckeye effort against Sparty. D-Line was solid, and other than the ridiculous play where nobody wanted to wrap-up, the tackling was much improved.

Agree. On that one play I was thinking "here we go again" but other than that they did a decent job.

Watching the video it actually looks like it is Hankins who initiates and the Sparty player is just retaliating.

That was weird, what you see now is what I typed first. Then what you have quoted is what I edited to. But it reverted for some reason.

But just to be clear. I do think it looks like it was Hankins who initiated on this occasion.

Yes, there were deleted posts. They were completely off-topic/irrelevant for the sole purpose of harassing a poster. Let the topic die. This is an OSU thread.

So am I allowed to post in this thread or not? Everytime I try and add to the discussion, F4F deletes my posts. I wasn't harrassing anyone, just commenting on their posts.

Same, I just wanted to know a particular poster's opinion, yet F4F has to get a hard on for his mod duties. It's no wonder why people are starting to leave this site. I remember when we could discuss topics, now we have to make sure our posts are are to the satisfaction of certain mods in order to be approved.

Anyway, I thought hyde ran pretty well. Scary moment when it looked like Braxton tore his ACL though. I don't wish that upon anybody except for rapistberger and lebron.
