In case anyone didnt get the memo...UAB is a really bad football team and the win by 14 pts is still a "W" albeit the most embarrassing "W" in the Shoe in the last half century. Watching the communication and dynamics along the sidelines it is apparent there is tension and strain between Urbie and Fickell. First off...who in the Hell named Partly Cloudy Klein a starter this week? My bet it wasn't Urbie.

This site is full of football coaching experts, so this question should be an easy one...which player on Defense should be your bonafide badass that pretty much terrorizes the offense and usually leads the stats in tacckles? If you answerd anything other than MLB you're an idiot. Klein's name was never mentioned once in the stadium but somehow the paper the next day gave him credit for one solo and one assist. His Dad must be the sports editor because I was there Sat and this MAC school 2nd teamer never participated in a single tackle while he was in.

Luke should be recognized for what he did last year but his lack of cohesion with Urbie is going to cost us and it might start this week.

The big ten is weak so i say they will be okay. But its disheartening to watch this team. I'm glad for the bowl ban. Because watching them perform poorly in a Christmas week bowl would anger me.

Urbie. Not even Shelley called him that. Even funnier that you think he is not the one who decides which player starts. If that is true, why even hire the guy?

Meh. There have been plenty of close wins to bad/average teams in the last 50 years. I think people expected Urban to come in and win every game by 100. It's possible that expectations are somehow even higher now than they were when Tress was here.

I'm wondering what he ever did to you. I was a little surprised to see him start, but mostly because I thought he was kicked off the team. For some reason there are certain buckeyes you just love to hate.

I hate Klein as much as anyone, but you have a very strange obsession with him.

This team was 6-7 last year, there is going to be some rough games. They have lots of potential, and a lot of potential stars coming in, but they are not going to look great right away. The defense has been disappointing as a whole outside of Hank and Roby, but the offense looks much better this year and the only sure fire playmaker in Miller. There is still obviously a lot of room for improvement, but they are making strides in some areas. There is going to be bumps in the road and tension between players and coaches here and there.

There are certain Buckeyes that do not deserve the acclaim and adulation that is hoisted upon them from most of the the blind, deaf and dumb members of Buckeye Nation due mostly to shit they committed outside the lines. And the leading two candidates are TWHPIH Smith and Partly Cloudy Klein. And yes I am a miserable old bastard that hates everyone, but thats beside the point.

I would bet most of them don't "deserve" it.

I can name dozens of Buckeyes that have more than earned the praise they received. But there are some others who have hoodwinked the masses and they need to be called out for the low-life POS they are. If that makes me a hater...I'll gold plate the title TYVFM.

I didn't mean to imply that there weren't many who had. Just that the typical fan only cares about perceived results on the field. If Storm Klein made a few more tackles, there are some who wouldn't care if he beat his girlfriend or not.

I don't think you're a buckeye hater, but you definitely hate a few (at least two) of them. LOL

Wasn't '86 9 - 3 and '87 10 -3? Where was the tie?

'87 they were 6-4-1, with a tie vs. LSU (I was at that game, which was suspended due to lightning)

Nice call Vball...I had to check and you are right on. I guess I was confusing '87 with '86 and '86 with '85. I was working in GA at the time and thought I knew those records. Either way we shut up Pick 6 trying to be all clever.

You are correct...'85 they were 9-3, and in '86 they were 10-3, totalling 6 losses. Tiernan, I stand corrected--good call. ;)

Not exactly the same thread. I was pointing out that personnel and old field decisions seem to being made that don't quite jive with Urbie's "change the culture" message. The taunting call by Bryant for instance...he did the same BS last year w/o repercussions. I gotta believe Urbie is fed up with the inmates running the asylum, but Luke seems to let it go.

Of course it's fine. I don't care where the thread is, I'm just being my normal prick self.
Just thought this thread and the one linked in my original post are similar topics.

Maybe the repercussions for Bryant were handled on the practice field?
