Notre Dame gets a much needed bye week to get their offense together. Miami plays North Carolina State this Saturday.
Notre Dame's running game has been very below average the last three games. The first two of those were understandable (Purdue's and Michigan State's DL are studly), but the Michigan game was not good. The last two wins have been very 2002-like, that's not exactly a good thing.
Miami is a pretty mediocre team. A lot of talent and speed, but they basically suck. Yet, somehow, they beat Georgia Tech.
I expect to see Stephen Morris throw two interceptions and Notre Dame wins 28-10. What say you?
This is this year's edition of the Shamrock Series. This will be at Soldier Field, not a bad place to play a football game:

Wearing these God-awful uniforms:

Shamrock Series outings:
2009: vs. Washington State, W 40-14, San Antonio TX
2010: vs. Army, W 27-3, New York NY
2011: vs. Maryland, W 45-21, Washington DC
2012: vs. Miami (FL), ????, Chicago IL
2013: vs. Arizona State, ????, Dallas TX
This is probably one of the neatest thing Notre Dame does and I imagine it's a huge recruiting tool as well.

I asked the question on the Michigan game thread...but why didn't Cierre Wood get more carries? He was the only one moving the ball and only got 7 carries. Did I miss something?
I think you need to get Cierre the ball, and establish the run early. I'm also hoping that Kelly has Golson start. But I guess we'll wait and see what he says about that.
The gameplan against Michigan went completely out the window after Golson's first INT. In the Michigan State game, ND ran that really nice counter play where the whole line, Golson, and the RB would go to one side...and then Golson would hand it off to whoever was in the backfield to go the other way. They ran that play once against Michigan, and it was when Rees was in the game.
I think ND wins this game because Miami does not look good at all. But the offense better start looking better or we could be in trouble the following game against Stanford.

Miami was up 19-0 after the first quarter. They trailed 36-19 with 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. They tied it. Won in OT 42-36. Weird ass game. Both teams sucked. Both are inept. ND should roll. Watch Miami win...somehow.

This is also the game where you are going to hear people complain more about the jerseys and helmets than anything that happens on the field.

Correct. This is the Shamrock Series game. Each year ND will play at a Neutral Site wearing an alternate uniform. And this will be that game for this season.Midstate01;1278796 wrote:Oh these are the gold and blue helmets?!?

I will be seriously worried if the Irish only win by seven points. They need to smash Miami.vball10set;1278923 wrote:ND will win, but it'll be close....Irish by 7

This won't last much longer but pretty crazy....
@ChiTribHamilton: RT @bcfremeau: Notre Dame is now the only college football team that hasn't trailed at any point this year.

Might be able to go to this game if I can find decently priced tickets. My sister is running the marathon Sunday morning so I'll be in the city all weekend.

Love this story from Rocket about the brawl in the tunnel with Miami. Looking forward to this game. Miami has some confidence after Saturday...but I think ND's defense is a step or two above NC State.

Remember when ND had a tough schedule this year? That seems to be going down the shitter each week.
