For as much as I think Weeden can be successful, the guy leaves a lot of plays on the field. I was under the impression that he "throws a good deep ball" but I haven't seen that yet. He's had 4 TD's (potential) where he's either a) thrown too late, b) underthrew the guy, c) threw the ball on a straight line instead of getting air under it or d) overthrew it. A lot of this is timing but this offense can't afford "near misses" with how mistake prone they are. His game yesterday, to me, would've been a "C effort" before he threw that second pick. After that he has to be downgraded to about a "D" for the game.
The first pick he threw he was just trying to make something happen but that second throw was just BAD.
In his defense, NO WAY Shurmur should be trying to rest the teams fate on a rookie QB. Meaning "why the Hell did he give up on the running game and Ricahrdson so early?" Yeah, T-Rich wasn't busting big runs but he wasn't against Cincy either. He's like a diesel engine...you have to keep working him and then he'll take off. First it will be two yards, then three, then one then BOOM...20 yard TD run. Can't give up on him so soon, Patty Boy.
