Have to get it for work. I can't remember the last time I've had the flu, but last year was the first time I had to get the shot, and I ended up sick for a week -- with the flu.
It's such a fucking waste. My God, how did we ever survive without this thing. Healthcare administrators would deepthroat it if they could.

But, part of my bias is that infection control people at our hospital our some of the biggest hags you'll ever meet.

I can't remember the last time I got one. I'm sure I did as a kid or something. Never as an adult.

The shot only covers three strains of the flu if I remember right. I ended up with a strain that the shot didnt cover and ended up missing a few days of work with the flu. I dont get the flu shot anymore.

Crazy how some people believe they get the flu because of the shot. Most likely if they did really get sick, it was just because of being around so many people at once....

Yea, I dunno the exact number of strains they cover but it seems like pretty much a crap shoot. The decision makers study past data and guess what will be most likely to hit our area.
Ya get some damn sick person from out of state, it's game over man.

I never get it and I never get sick. People who do get it and end up sick always makes me laugh.

Just wondering why is this year that much more important to get the shot than the past two years?

Haven't seen a need to get it. I tend to get 1-2 light colds a year, where taking a day or two off work and just being a lazy-ass bum at home is all it takes to get better.

never had the flu my entire life, see no need to get a shot for something that I don't get. Even then, so what if I get the flu, it's not deadly. You stay in bed and drink plenty of fluids, big whoop.

3,000-50,000 people die annually from the seasonal flu in the U.S. (source: CDC). A small number considering the population, but it is indeed deadly.

What? You didn't hear about that new flu strain that's gonna kill millions of people this year???

Just kidding, my daughter is in school this year and brought some sort of bug home in the first week. Both kids are sick right now w 103-4 fevers. We need to stay flu free as much as we can to take care of them.
