What surprises me is that with offensive ineptness being so frequent for them that the Reds have a record that is within one game of being the best in MLB!Rotinaj;1277120 wrote:And this surprises you?

I think Speier would make a good manager. I think a lot of good things that happen for the Reds originate with ideas from him, such as defensive positioning, calling pitch-outs, suicide and safety squeezes, etc.
Marshall says the pitch Kemp hit was off the plate. No doubt it was a great job of hitting, but the K-zone showed it about 2-4" within the strike zone - it just wasn't in as much as he was shooting for!

Cards tie the Cubs in the top of the 9th as the Reds sold out game is starting, so the Reds will have two chances to clinch the division while they are on the field today.
