I think Speier would make a good manager. I think a lot of good things that happen for the Reds originate with ideas from him, such as defensive positioning, calling pitch-outs, suicide and safety squeezes, etc.
Marshall says the pitch Kemp hit was off the plate. No doubt it was a great job of hitting, but the K-zone showed it about 2-4" within the strike zone - it just wasn't in as much as he was shooting for!
