Gosh a ruddies, I'm sure all of you have a large emergency cash fund and no debts to speak of. Poor Americans and their multiple TVs; how could they ever afford their own healthcare or save for retirement?

I don't think it matters really. Kids these days don't need to study since getting an A or B in school is about as easy as cake. College really isn't even that tough depending on the likely major of the generation of kids who don't have a rats ass about math or science; aka the only skills demanded by the current marketplace. Likely, they'll go to school, major in something useless(read: nothing STEM) and then complain about the rich and how they are not paying their fair share. What a joke.

An exception to the rule does not make the rule invalid. There are exceptions to everything; including gravity. Congratulations.

There are no winners in this country. The winners just got lucky and the losers are not successful because its someone else's fault they live beyond their means and pop out more babies than this country has room for. People's priorities are all screwed up. We burn so much money on useless junk we can't afford(Apple) and then complain that we have no money to feed our kids or go to the doctor. It's fraud at best and fraud at worst; welcome to America.

You act if owning a tv is some sort of measure of prosperity. You realize some people's big screens are still tubes? Imagine what it's like to not have HD. You're heartless. You probably think people should be reading books instead or something.

I'd say that a person who owns a lot of TVs is a person who is working to stimulate the economy. A fucking patriot!

To each his own, but don't come crying to me when you lose your job and need money. You wasted it; you can eat dirt for all I care.

I don't know; get a job? Go back to school? Go on a run? Read a book? Learn a new skill? Be a good parent to your overrated child?

TV is for the birds.

I'll buy a case of BLD with my food stamps to enjoy while watching my big screen, thank you very much. I might even buy a second tv so I can watch HBO and Showtime at the same time.

Good idea! I mean, if there are two good things on at the same time, why should you have to pick between them? And getting another TV means you're saving the economy with your purchasing power!

Some would say to DVR the program, but I'm already recording two other shows so I have something to watch late-night when nothing else is on.

Heck, Best Buy will give me a tv with no payments for 12 months - how can you pass that deal up?

That's a good point. When the omnipotent one was talking about a one-term presidency I'm certain he had his eye on Dec 21st.
