Also I'm currently working on a book that will outlay the "Harvard Effect". I will send you a free copy when I am finished.

A couple of those actually surprise me. Yuengling and PBR seem to be treated as decent cheap beers by a lot of people. Hell, I don't hate Yuengling. Been years since I had a PBR, I think.

Believe it or not, sleeper, I'd be honestly interested in reading it.

I would just do it if I was looking for a cool way to be not cool.

Trust me I have caught all kinds of hell about not liking Yuengling.

You are welcome to fix it. If you can find out which mod edited my signature and hold them accountable that would be excellent as well. My guess is Voldemort or He-Shall-Not-Be-Named but I don't know if any Harry Potter characters are mods of this forum.

Wouldn't bust your balls for it. Just thought it unusual.

I don't think it shows regular Mods that kind of info, and I'm not sure what kind of accountability I can hold them to, being on an even plane. However, I can fix.

There isn't anything wrong with Yuengling, it is just an average beer that gets high accolades because it is so cheap relatively so some people may overrate it. I'd put it up a step above Bud and Coors, that doesn't make it a great brew, just better relatively. Certainly better than some of the junk out there today.

No disagreement here. Like I said, I don't mind it, and I won't hesitate to drink it if offered. Then again, I don't mind Bud Light. I'd never pick it, but if offered, I won't turn my nose up at it.

Yuengling is so overrated.

I do agree with this. A lot of people seriously overvalue it. I think it has to do with the fact that it was such a novelty in Ohio for so long.

Yuengling is the best beer for the price level it falls in.

That, and the price point. Compared to other cheap beers it certainly superior (the more I think on this thread the more I loathe all of the cheap crap I drank in college), but it isn't anything special.

Right. It's not expensive, but it's of a higher quality than Bud/Miller/Busch/Coors/etc. Add that to the fact that it wasn't sold here in Ohio for quite some time, and you've got a recipe for success.

Just saw that BA has it at a 97. Now I've GOTTA try it.

Let me know if you find it (don't think they've brewed it since 2011). I usually like stout beers, although this is on an entirely different level....possible what I had may have been skunked. Generally you can't go wrong with Goose Island, which was why I was shocked it was so bad.

Their best beer and one of my tops ever was Madame Rose, I think (don't believe it was a Demolition, could have been but that's out of production).

They did brew some in 2012 I think, had some about 6 months ago, but it's a very narrow distribution (like, certain stores in Chicago only). I loved it, but you cannot under any circumstances go into it thinking you'll be having a beer. It's a spirit moreso than a beer, wicked strong, but IMO very very tasty.

My favorite of theirs was Night Stalker, which is also out of production.

Thanks a lot, Anheuser-Busch.

All true. I took a sip and hated it. I think with food or a nice cigar I may have liked it much more. I'm not a big fan of straight liquor, especially bourbon, and that's probably why I didn't like it.

Out of scale of 10:
Yuengling Premium, Ale, B&T, etc is a 3-3.5.
Genesse, Pabst are a 3.
Bud, Miller, are a 2.
Coors is a 1.5.

So Yuengling is at least twice as good as Coors and at least 50% better than Bud & Miller.

Yeah. I think I said this on the beer snob thread, but in my opinion Yueng and Yueng Light are good because they're in the same price range as Miller and Bud. When they go into Black and Tan or their Bock, it's a weaker version of a truly good beer, so it's more of a "in a pinch" beer than something to actually look for.

For disgusting...
