I imagine they also have opposing views to most on this forum about abortion but I'll stay mum on that as it's a tired topic here really.

You'd be wrong, don't ask because you probably don't want to know. Euros are pretty weird people, amazing how we built a country from immigration (mainly) from there. Get into a conversation about WWII and the holocaust with Euros, you'll get a lot of "interesting" opinions.

I assume this is it, but I would have a hard time even calling any of those legislating their "va-jeens." Seems like they were just going for the shock value.

I find it comical that abortion is such a divisive issue. Besides the fact that overturning Roe v. Wade is neither practical or likely, that so many women appear to vote based on this singular issue begs the question: Why is this so important to you - are you PLANNING to get pregnant and then have an abortion? Do responsible women really have an expectation of an unplanned pregnancy they plan to abort?

From that standpoint, it'd be similar to people who get fired up over taxing the top tax brackets at a much higher rate. The majority of people will never be in those brackets, but they still get upset over it.

It's less an issue of rights I will use and more an issue of rights to which I have access.

Well, even if we aren't taxed at the highest rate (and for me I'm not), there's the idea that the people that are taxed at the highest rate can use the money better than our government. I've never been hired by a person that was taxed at the lowest rate. So there is that aspect. As to abortion, it is unbelievable it is an issue in the U.S. with our access to birth control, it is the utmost in irresponsible behavior. I can see it in Africa or another developing region, but not in the U.S.
