Bell is a tough runner. Putting the team on his back.

He is single-handedly keeping MSU in it.

Once the Spartans got to first and goal, Boise had to let Bell walk into the endzone untouched. There wasn't enough time left to do what they did.

Neither team looked very good IMO. It was game 1 so I don't really take a whole lot away from it.

Nope. Can't win the game if you don't have the ball or the ability to get the ball. It would have taken a miracle to score a TD, get the onside kick, and then at least a field goal. However, there was no way to win the way they played it.Cher;1259168 wrote:Sounds like someone bet MSU to cover.

MSU IMO is the best team in the B1G and this isn't a homer pick either. They're probably the only team who can play D in this conference

I agree MSU looks the best right now. But we're only 1 week in. Lots of football to play.Classyposter58;1260761 wrote:MSU IMO is the best team in the B1G and this isn't a homer pick either. They're probably the only team who can play D in this conference

And if Bell goes down the season is officially f'd. This isn't NCAA 13 with the injuries shut off, you can't just have 50 rushes by a single personWebFire;1260774 wrote:I agree MSU looks the best right now. But we're only 1 week in. Lots of football to play.

Sure, but a lot of teams would have their seasons screwed if their best offensive weapon went down. The thing they have going for them is that their defense can keep them in games.Classyposter58;1260948 wrote:And if Bell goes down the season is officially f'd. I would say look at the midway point and then come back to this. OSU should have a good defense. Not sure about Nebraska. But what do we know after 1 game of easy opponents? You certainly can't based it off of last year's defenses.vball10set;1261050 wrote:Nebraska and OSU don't play defense?

point taken...I agree that to say they play great defense is premature, but to insinuate they play no defense is ludicrousWebFire;1261062 wrote:I would say look at the midway point and then come back to this. I don't think he meant it that way, at least I didn't take it that way. I think he just meant MSU so far is the only one you can point to and think they DO have a good defense. The others may very well, we'll find out soon enough.vball10set;1261079 wrote:point taken...I agree that to say they play great defense is premature, but to insinuate they play no defense is ludicrous
1 thing we do know, all the concern's about defense from Michigan's camp were not exaggerated. And only recruiting will fix it.
