It's off to (almost) Hanoverton this week for the annual United matchup. D3 vs D5, but local interest is huge since many Salem parents went to United and vice-versa. Always draws well - it's more a rivalry in this aspect than it actually has been on the field.

United lost to a Malvern team that has been loaded for a few years (at least for a D6 school). Salem gave Liberty their first win in 2 years.

Outside of the dark (read: Miller) years, Salem has had United's number, by and large. The Liberty loss has me nervous, and a week 2 United loss has always been the early kiss of death on a season. Not sure what coach Ward has at United, so hopefully someone can fill us in.

Should be a very competitive game, but Salem in my opinion needs this win because they might not get many more after it. salem by 6

Not from United, but as a ITCL follower I can say they have a very athletic QB in Garrett Beech. He started last year, about mid-season, as a sophomore. So he should be a little more poised this year. Not a whole lot of size on the Eagles this year, but they are suppose to have some decent speed.
