The scary part is how many new guys Bama had starting. Later in the season once they get more experience they could be unreal. They already showed tonight they can play on another level. All respect in the world to Michigan for playing them, Bama is just a buzzsaw.

Bama looked good. Not much more to say than that. They dominated, but then again I don't think anyone would say that Michigan is operating at 'Bama's level right now, because no one is.

I still think Michigan is in for a good year.

I think Michigan could still have a good year, but they will have to stay healthy, which is already in question. Borges needs to figure out what he is going to do with Denard and the offense. He made a statement in camp that he realized he tried to force the pro style on Denard too much last year and that he had a better idea what to do with him this year. He sure fooled me!

For starters he shouldn't be trying to make tackles like he did.

The defense sure wasn't making them.

My thoughts also. I thought Bama would win, but it would be much closer. To lose what they did from their NC team, and look like that... wow!

I wish Saban didn't pull the horses as early as he did. When does the Denard for Heisman talk begin?

Much like Alabama, Michigan is replacing key aspects to their defense as well. Alabama's replacements are just head and shoulders above Michigan's.

Keep in mind Alabama got a pick 6 and another pick that gave Alabama the ball inside Michigan's 30(maybe even closer, I honestly can't remember). I'm not trying to hang my hat on these things, but that's 14 points that the defense had very little or no hand in giving up.

Can you even imagine what they would have done to RRod's defense. Holy schnikes.

And I was right. Blake Countess the staring CB for Michigan has torn ACL.

Prior to the game, I really thought UM could win, but it looks like Denard is sticking with the chuck and duck style passing, and the defense hasn't really improved. The B1G might be really bad this year, unfortunately.

I honestly didn't think they'd win, but thought they'd keep it within 14 points. The defense will be ok in B1G play, but it is obvious that losing Martin and Van Bergen is huge. Our LB play was not very good either. Wouldn't surprise me if Bolden takes the starting spot from Demens later in the year.

The other glaring fact is the talent difference from Michigan (and the B1G really) and a program like Alabama. But I guess having 3 #1 oversigned classes in a row will get you that.

Michigan will get there. But it's going to take a few of Hoke's classes to do it. I still think they can have a good season.

^^ the talent level was indeed huge. (Am hoping after 2-3 years with Urban at tOSU the Bucks at least will resemble that kind of talent.) Stinks about Countess and ACL. Even for U of M i hate to see somebody go down for the season in the first game of all things.
Watching a replay of some of the game today, I noticed (even more so)Denard's passing mechanics really stink. I realize hoke wants to have a pro style offense, but "pro style" and Robinson are on oposite ends of the spectrum. To utilize him to his best effectiveness, he needs to be in a spread/option offense. Doing that he is scary with his speed and quickness.

should add, had tOSU played Ala last night with this year's team, I'm not sure the results would have been all that different. Probably a little closer...but maybe not

Well, if OSU had started out against Alabama like they did against Miami, they'd have probably been down 21-0 before I'd even had my first beer of the day finished, which could have hurt as far as keeping it close goes...but by overall performance, I'd agree with you.

Ohio State is better than Michigan this year. Honestly UM's D is as bad as it was in 2010 folks. This Bama team lost Trent Richardson, and they weren't overly dominate offensively, it was their D. They should not of had such an easy time offensively. I've got UM going 7-5 (5-3) this season
